If you see words like “BELGIAN CONGO” or ‘UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA” you know the Globe is really old. Like my first globe, which was also a piggy bank. :-)
Yep, they’re there, as well as French West Africa and French Equatorial Africa.
It has dotted lines between places, telling the distance between them - example: Honolulu to San Francisco 2408 miles.
One neat line gives me more of a ballpark figure on the age. It says Graf Zeppelin World Flight 1929.
My guess is the globe was used by Hubby’s dad, his aunt Clara, and their two other siblings based on the age of the globe.
It’s a cool little thing.
