Here in MD, the sound of shooting is so common that no one bothers to call the police

We hear gunshots all the time here, it's just people having fun target practicing - although we do have one dog it upsets.

On another note I did see in the newspaper under the police reports that someone reported guns going off - police officer explained to complainer that it's not against the law to shoot guns. :) It made me smile.
