I'd rephrase that in a less politically correct manner: For whatever reason (cultural, genetic) American blacks currently have a higher incidence of violent behavior than many other identifiable groups of the population. The rest follows, both in and out of the black community.

“Mostly peaceful” my ass. If you are participating in a riot, you are as guilty as everyone else. The longer the riots are allowed to continue, the more violent they will become. The answer is to arrest people by the hundreds and impose a curfew after dark and then enforce it.
