RNC Chair McDaniel: If You Cannot Debate ‘You Should Not Be President’
Breitbart ^ | 08.05.2020 | TRENT BAKER

Posted on 08/05/2020 3:22:37 AM PDT by USA Conservative

Tuesday, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel weighed in on Democrats and the media such as The New York Times urging presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden not to debate.

McDaniel told Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company” that Biden is “incoherent at best” and noted the “many” gaffes he has made from running his presidential campaign out of his basement. She argued being unable to participate in a debate is “disqualifying.”

“They’re acting as the media arm for the Biden campaign,” McDaniel said of The New York Times.

She added, “Biden doesn’t want to debate. He is incoherent at best. We’ve seen many of his gaffes from his basement. They are afraid to put him on a debate stage. I just want to say this — I think it is disqualifying. If you cannot debate in front of the American people, and make your case as to why you should be president, as to why you should go up against people like Putin or Xi, then you should not be president. And you need to debate. I think if he doesn’t debate, if he doesn’t do all three, he should be disqualified from actually running for president.”

Trump has a track record of taking questions from hostile questioners.

And he won't be able to resort to calling the moderator a nasty person and turning to the next reporter.

I think Lincoln and Douglas might have had something to say about that. ;)

Nixon-Kennedy was the first televised debate. I watched it; Nixon needed a shave, Kennedy was a pretty boy.

I think that was a major political wake-up call to the value of optics.

“She is 100% right!!!”

But she’s giving away our best issue. Better to lay low and make sure that Biden is baked-in as their candidate first.

Like it or not, there are PLENTY of Democrats who can put sentences together - we’re just lucky not to be up against one of them...so far.

I suppose they could propose a computerized debate, like the computerized boxing matches they sold CCTV tickets to.

But I think if they do that, or try to hide the truth, the game is up with at least 5% of his potential voters, and that’s enough to lose an election. Probably a lot more than 5%.

He didn’t do too bad with Wallace and Megan.

” And he won’t be able to resort to calling the moderator a nasty person and turning to the next reporter. “

He will be just as able to call out phony journalism for exactly what it is, and refuse to accept the “rules” promulgated by the radical left media whores. And they will be just as helpless, bound by the playbook they’ve been steeped in since the CPUSA wrote it in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s.

And I will stand there and cheer while they look confused for the 10,000th time.

If we had a parliamentary system he’d have to deal with Question Period. What then?

Joementia has no problems taking both sides in any debate - usually at the same time.

I saw a video of Basementman responding to a question of whether or not he’s had a cognitive test. He said “no”, obviously forgetting that he had previously said he was “tested all the time”. He also said he was “forward-looking” to debating Trump. He stumbled over the word “fitness” 2 or 3 times before getting it right. That was just a 2 minute clip. I think that he won’t tbe quite as bad as must of us hope he’ll be at the debate at least in the first 30 minutes, but after that he’ll start fading and his mental decline will show thru.
