The Turtle DID NOT want Kris Kobach, b/c he was sure Kobach would lose in November. McConnell was also upset that the president was not helping to boost one of the other candidates, but Trump for the most part stayed out of it.

Kobach is a good conservative, but is too outspoken for the RINOs in this state. In 2018, he lost to a commie Dem in the gubernatorial race because too many Republicans stayed home or crossed over to vote commie.

Marshall is more palatable to squishy GOP'ers and will vote conservative at least 98% of the time. In addition, he is a strong Trump supporter. The Dems were hoping for a Kobach victory (they even pumped money into his candidacy), so they are disappointed. Marshall should cruise to a solid win in November, putting a dent in Schumer's hopes to win back the Senate.

I hope Kobach remains in public life because he has much to offer. This just wasn't his time.

The good news is that the Republicans will keep the seat, something that would not have happened if Kobach had won. The Dems spent millions to support Kobach.

The bad news is that Marshall will be a McConnell ally, but it was definately the better outcome for Senate control.

Someone who isn’t getting Millions from Silicon Valley would probably be best for Senate. Kobach may be a border Hawk, but Silicon valley is all about more H1B’s.
