(from yesterday) ESPN: JONATHAN ISAAC EXPLAINS DECISION TO STAND DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM (nearing 400,000 views!)
The devil is working overtime in 2020.
When can we see story headlines like: “NBA Player that KNELLED for Anthem gets wheeled off court after Leg Injury”
Just wondering?
God bless him. Hope He brings him right back.
"I believe that Black Lives Matter. A lot went into my decision, and part of it is, I thought that kneeling or wearing the Black Lives Matter t-shirt doesn't go hand-in-hand with supporting Black lives. So I felt like, just me personally, what is that I believe is taking on a stance that, I do believe that Black lives matter, but I just felt like it was a decision that I had to make, and I didn't feel like putting that shirt on and kneeling went hand in hand with supporting Black lives. I believe that for myself, my life has been supported by gospel, Jesus Christ, and everyone is made in the image of God and that we all forge through God's glory.
Each and every one of us do things that we shouldn't do and say things that we shouldn't say. We hate and dislike things that we shouldn't hate and dislike, and sometimes it gets to a point where we point fingers, whose evil is worse, and sometimes it comes down to whose evil is most visible. So I felt like I wanted to take a stand on, we all make mistakes, but I think that the gospel of Jesus Christ is that there's grace for us, and that Jesus came and died for our sins and that if we all come to an understanding of that and that God wants to have a relationship with us, that we can get kept all of the things in our world that our messed up, jacked up.
I think when you look around, racism isn't the only thing that plagues our society, that plagues our nation, that plagues our world, and I think coming together on that message that we want to get past not only racism but everything that plagues as us as a society, I feel like the answer to that is gospel."

At least there is one basketball player/gentleman who is NOT anti-Semitic, anti-Asian, anti-Hispanic, anti-white and anti-God.
Hope he recovers quickly and has a great season.
But John, “watch your back and legs”. Some of your friends and teammates may NOT BE your friends and teammates.
Prayers up!
Prayers for this brave man.
Did somebody do something dirty to him?

Are you sure? Since he says he supports BLM and that the reason he stood is because he has friends in the military. Anyone who supports BLM is anti- a lot of things, especially what you have stated.
Yep. Teammates leave him wide open while collaborator from the opposing team takes a foul for a vicious body check.
No surprise. It was a coordinated attack.
I’d cut him some slack on any support for BLM. Once he learns that they are a Marxist, extortionist group, I think he will rethink his support to that group, not necessary a movement.
“Did somebody do something dirty to him?”
Watched the tape a number of times and it didn’t look like there was any contact. He cut between two players, planted his feet with his left out in front of him, and put the pressure on his left leg and the knee collapsed. The pressure on what looks like an ACL was too much and it tore or snapped totally. If just torn, it may not require surgery and can heal. But with the need for pressure on the knee he is asking playing basketball, there may be a problem with the healing without the knife. Depends upon the severity.

I’m glad that nobody took it out on him. That is unfortunate, once your knees go, your sporting career is coming to an end.
His knee gave out without much stress put on it. Not a good sign. Get well soon!
He says he believes that black lives matter. (Obviously!) He did not, however endorse the *institution* bearing the name.
He belives that he can better support black lives, and ALL lives by representing CHRIST, who came to redeem ALL of us for ALL our sins, not just racism. He warned against pointing fingers and highlighting one sin over the another. White people are not the only ones who need to repent of wrongs. Black people are capable of hate and commit wrongs, and need forgiveness too.
That was his message.
Amen
Actually, that wasn’t what happened. I was speculating about what COULD happen to him in the future.
