And why do they support just one wek? Explain why a one week extension is supported but not two or more. Why is it so critical?

Wht morons. They say crap totally detached from their brains.

Hegelian dialectic

Compromise with socialists still always gets them closer to their goal

“ I don’t see the point in this!”
Because there isn’t one. Saying it is worse than doing nothing.

Um, guys? You do realize who controls the House, right? You know, that half of the bicameral legislature that controls the purse?

That's not Newt Gingrich there behind the Speaker desk.

Actually I like 1 week $600
then cut it back to $500
then cut it again...
There is work but many do not want to work because they are paid well to stay home.

So no loss of benefits while they negotiate.

DUDE!! Businesses here in North Alabama are starved for workers because so many are sucking on the teat of the federal gov’t for more money than they make at their jobs!! You dumbshit! I have never seen so many help wanted signs. Went to Whitts barbecue the other day, sign on the window said “due to lack of help we have temporarily closed this location and consolidated our employees to the 6th AVE location.” Went to Auto Zone yesterday the manager was at a table at the front of the store begging everyone that came in to fill out an application. It’s time for people to get back to work!

Just that $600 bonus alone is more than I bring home each week from actually working.

Our company is having huge difficulty restarting because people do not want to come to work since they are making more money on unemployment than they make going to work.

Most are working part time off the books income as well since employers are so desperate for workers so they are making even more tax free

You just can’t make this stuff up

Your company isn't paying enough.

As he said for more time to finish negotiations on the new bill. The headline is misleading for what it leaves out.

There actually is not work for many at this point. Our oppressive government had forced closures and limits that have severely throttled the economy.

Far worse are the 100% paycheck payments for millions of government workers still out on leave because of the pandemic hoax.

Are you serious?

The company pays very well - just can’t compete with with the value proposition of of $4000.00 + per month unemployment plus another $500 - $1500 per month under the table, off the books cash income for working part time in the under ground economy to stay “unemployed”

With no FICA tax obligations

it’s simply insane .

It’s a good way to look like shit in the press.
Piss off unemployed people just before the election?

The best thing to do for American workers would be to stop the tide of LEGAL immigration for decades, stop work visa entirely and to close the borders. This would help more than anything else.

There is garbage work available.
Servers working half the hours for 10% of their usual tips.
There’s barely anyone eating out.
My gym is at 5-10% normal capacity.
The fallout from the shutdown is far from over.
Commercial and residential real estate are going to crash.
Protection from eviction is now over.
All done by our government, not its citizens.
