“Eight Days a Week” by the Beatles came out at the time that an eight-day week was being proposed. To create a three-day weekend, a new day—Maury Wills Day—would be inserted between Friday and Saturday so as to create a three-day weekend. The Beatles obviously anticipated this development and cleaned up.
