Herman Cain, the former Republican presidential candidate and affable business magnate, died Thursday after being hospitalized for coronavirus, according to reports.
Cain, 74, first went to an Atlanta hospital for treatment on July 1, his staff had said.
His death was announced on Herman Cain's website and Facebook page.
"Herman Cain – our boss, our friend, like a father to so many of us – has passed away," the statement on his website said, noting there were "hopeful indicators" in recent days that he'd recover but adding: "And yet we also felt real concern about the fact that he never quite seemed to get to the point where the doctors could advance him to the recovery phase."

As I said, there has been no indication it did relapse recently though.
Provide a source indicating there was an active relapse while he was admitted to hospital for respiratory issue a month ago, and I’ll agree with you it was a significant contributing factor to his death in addition to covid.

PEOPLE ARE FED UP!”[106] Four weeks later, he was still hospitalized and being treated with oxygen.[107] In late July 2020, Cain died of complications of COVID-19.[108][109]

His cancer had been in remission since 2007, with no indication of relapse. There has been no indication cancer was a significant contributor to his death at this time. Cains weight during the Tulsa rally just a month ago appeared very healthy, making cancer relapse unlikely.
