not only that- you know damn well the DNC will pay antifa to cause problems outside the convention. Even if its in self defense, the criminal media will report any disturbance, violence, etc, that takes place outside the convention as Trump’s fault.
The last thing he/we need are more riots in this country, especially at one of his events. The convention is not important- getting him re-elected is the ultimate goal.

In the whole scheme of things a Convention Speech, constantly interrupted with applause, means little in terms of getting people to vote.
What I find interesting is the media who were complaining that Trump had not conducted a press conference for a couple of months.
So Trump complies with the medias wishes and conducts a daily press conference telling the electorate all the great things the he and his administration are doing.

One of Biden’s messages is that POTUS is spreading COVID by large gatherings. He can’t say that about the convention now.

Bad move. If the stated reason is security concerns over antifa, then it makes him look weak. If it is concerns over virus, then it just supports everything the Democrats are saying about that situation, voting, etc.
