It is the rioters who have taken to the streets, wear paramilitary clothing, attack loot and destroy and even murder - the only thing they haven’t done is toss people into unmarked vans.
But the tossing is the arresting which is the response to the rioting. You don’t take the effect and make it the cause.

Just out of curiosity, since Dimbulbcrats love “democracy” so much, and hate the constitution so much, how would they feel about federal intervention if some city would vote for slavery?
After all, we must do the “will of the people” and let’s say some group in some city would do such a thing?
Of course, we KNOW that they would want to do and we’d agree that federal intervention would be appropriate.

That’s correct! I attended Tea Party marches in DC and we were labelled as “rioters”. As I’m sure most Freepers have seen, we left DC cleaner than when we got there.
Mob rule = ochlocracy (therein, a faction attempts to control established government and intimidate opposition through street violence).
Democracy implies government of, by, and for, a majority of the people writ large. For the small minority factions rioting in Portland and Seattle are enemies of democracy.
The right to assemble is protected.
The right to riot, loot and destroy is not.
Simple.
