A bbunch of Air Force friends and I were partying at a bonfire near Homestead AFB back in the ‘80s. The area is cross-crossed with canals. Out of nowhere, vehicles sped up and lit us up with spotlights. Law enforcement had been staking out a drop from a plane, and scattered the ground people. They thought some of them might be hiding in our group.

Definitely a drug drop imo. The planes fly up the West coast of FL then turn inland north of Tampa. I’ve heard planes at night on several occasions flying ENE not more than 75’ off the ground, flying under the approach to Tampa airport.
