I grew up in a diehard football family and have watched the NFL my whole life. Was way into fantasy football, etc. Once Kaepernick took the knee and all the crap started, I’ve never watched a game and have abandoned all things NFL.... I don’t miss it at all and I really enjoy having my Sundays back
Like it is time now to apply AFFIRMATIVE ACTION Plus to the NFL. Let everyone see how practical this really is to bring about equality.

The NFL needs to die and another league needs to take its place. All those owners have managed to kill the golden goose. If the would have stood up to their employees when this first started they could have protected their franchise.
I love my Green Bay Packers, been a fan since I was 5 but I can and will live without pro football if Sundays turn into lectures on BLM and White Oppression, I’ll walk away and turn that four hours into something productive. I’ll miss it but I don’t NEED it.
Goodell is trying to walk a public-relations-racial tightrope while trying to maintain the NFL’s monopolistic, money-spinning franchise. He WILL fail.
In a way, I understand his reaction. When faced with the choice of the loud, corrupt media together with the leftist mob, or resisting leftist pressure - corporations in America have always been wiling to ignore, betray or insult traditional and conservative Americans. Some, like Nike or Gillette, even try to get ahead of the game. So why would the NFL make a different choice?
So the old admittedly racially insensitive gag is still true:
If someone hates the NBA they should force them to live by the affirmative action civil rights no racism rules: An equivalent number of white players on every team based on the surrounding area’s racial composition.
This rule is enforced in all businesses and promotion quotas.

Yes,IIRC the breakdown is...approx 70% white...15% black...15% Hispanic...and other races are small in number.

Exactly, if it’s no longer a meritocracy, and we are going to base jobs on demographics, can we at least do that fairly?

The NFL still has the best TV ratings every year.
The Super Bowl gets the largest audience and half the top 30 TV shows each year are NFL games.
And that will continue.

I was never into Fantasy Football. I liked the home-town team aspect of football, and Fantasy simply makes it abstract and takes the team part out of it (aside from one's artificially constructed "team"). In today's woke climate, I would think Fantasy Football would be about the only way to enjoy it. The primma donna woke players are reduced to stats for your enjoyment and possibly profit, and you don't even have to watch them grovel on TV.

True but while the NFL holds a large share of television ratings, it's against declining viewership. Ultimately, the television networks won't be able to fill in enough gaps between professional sporting events with reruns and infomercials. They're even showing "Fail" videos found on the internet on two broadcast channels already.

You could be correct, but stupid NFL/etc actions and demographic changes suggest that soccer will prevail, not that I watch that either.
The media quit showing the empty stands last year. Only the game. Won’t be long before there will be zero crowd noise.
