With the 1918 flu, masks were not mandatory in most places and not everyone used them. In the end, masks did not slow the rates of infection nor the death rates and there was no social distancing crap. People avoided the sick, quarantined the sick and everyone else went about the business of living. For that matter, people in China wear masks during flu season all the time and it doesn’t slow down their infection rates either.
