I don’t wear a mask in mandated areas like WalMart or grocery stores. No confrontations with a mask Nazi yet, but if I do, I’ll pull the old liberal guilt trip on them. .i.e. “Why don’t you wear a mask?” “Why do you want to see me collapse on the floor?”
Did have an older checkout lady ask me why I didn’t wear a mask. Told her it made me light-headed. (lie) Said hers gave her headaches, so in a survey, I gave the company Hell for putting their people through that.

We don’t have a mask mandate in my state. Don’t have much COVID-19. We do have a longstanding culture of being civil and minding our own business.
I’ve only encountered one business that required masks on customers to enter. My employer requires masks on all employees and vendors in our retail locations. I’m never in them for more than thirty minutes at a time, so it’s no big deal.
I get enough sleep, eat well, supplement, and keep my hands super-clean. The people I see wearing them in public are mainly older or evidently disabled. They have their masks on, so they’re perfectly protected. Unless the masks are as useless as tits on a bullfrog, in which case me wearing one wouldn’t do them any favors.
I’m glad I chose to move away from the petri dish city a long time ago. Glad also to live in a state that’s not run by hysterics and hyperventilating control freaks.

I wont wear a mask. I don’t care if I get the virus. If you don’t want the virus, wear a mask or stay home. I avoid Costco, and even church, because I am not going to wear a mask. I assume masks will disappear right after the election.
Because of medical issues I cannot wear a mask. The only times that someone inquired about why I was not wearing a mask, they came within two feet of me to talk. I had to tell them to back away if they wanted to talk to me. In our state, you have to wear a mask if you cannot Social distance. Most businesses only follow the masks are required part, not the if part, of the governor’s edict. I got tired of people freaking out about me not wearing a mask, so now I wear one and pull it down far enough that I can breathe and not degrade my vision. Please do not give me advice about my mask. You will not like the results.

Here in Kentucky the governor issued a statewide mask mandate. But just two hours before that a judge slapped an injunction on him saying he can’t make any covid 19 restrictions carte blanche...it’s up to each counties health department. Didn’t stop the Dem governor. He just ignored the ruling. So his mask order is illegal and I’m not following it. Can you imagine the grief that a republican governor would have if he ignored an injunction against him by a judge?
In ALL of the states of which I’ve read their mask mandate “rules” there is an exception for “medical condition.”
Repeat after me:
“I have a medical condition.”
I’ve not worn a mask ANYWHERE on my own time.
The question is how do you deal with “Karens” as an anti-mask activist.
Simple: Be polite, do not raise your voice, do not acknowledge ANYTHING the person says and, if the person is a pest, walk toward the customer service counter where in most stores there are multiple cameras. State to the employee/manager clearly & calmly that this person is harassing you and ask them to tell the person to leave POLITELY and CALMLY.
DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE. In most states their refusal to leave constitutes criminal trespass...a happy ending.
BE AWARE OF THE LOCATION OF CAMERAS. They are your friend.
If you are physically capable, if assaulted (i.e. touched, poked, grabbed or shoved after a verbal warning), put the person down and call the police to press charges.
Otherwise lodge a complaint with management. Most stores’ policies will be to call police. Let the “Karen” dig his/her own hole.
And please, please, PLEASE don’t be an ass like that guy at Costco.
One more thing: This is not without risk. Highly recommended is to have one or two friends as backup and witnesses, better with video and, where permitted, armed (just in case, as ‘it’ has happened as recently as last week).
