His “honor” was more important than doing his job and letting an illegal investigation leading to a baseless impeachment harass the administration so this shows that he is entirely out of touch with reality.
I bet Carter Page, Popadopoulos, Gen Flynn, and Roger Stone don’t consider Trump’s comments to be juvenile insults.
Sessions’ defense of his “honor” is simply his way of covering up his lack of two essential virtues in his role as AG: 1) Discernment (you have to know what game you are playing in) and 2) Courage (the essential virtue which is the guarantor of all the other virtues). In other words Sessions is trying to divert attention from his essential cluelessness and his cowardice.

His honor and loyalty were tied to the deep state, not trump or the American people, so for that in his mind he did an exceptional job.
