Curious about Abbott’s motivation on this one.

I met Abbott at a UT tail gate party last year. Nice guy who sat for pictures with over 300 guests in the 100 degree weather. Friend of mine lives in Austin and said he was grooming to run for potus. I would imagine that’s a no go at this point.

They are better at lying with statistics than we are. They have had a lot more practice.

I’m saying this quietly ... but we’re thankful that TN has been respectful of citizens’ rights, and generally has not been heavy handed in its dictates.

I’m jealous of the SD citizens whose governor pretty much offered them total freedom to take responsibility for their own lives during this WuFlu travesty. I hope Gov. Noem is the keynote speaker at the RNC Convention; she has a future.

Abbot is either being controlled/compelled or his allegiance has run afoul and common sense thrown out the window under the political pressure from the RINO’s that care only for their own political expediency.

Incorrect.

Nobody hates masks, pausing opening and social distancing more than I do, but I also really dislike Republicans doing this. The Democrats will be dancing with joy.

Discussing this with Abbott person to person in meetings would be better.

If Texans are really as fiercely independent as we are led to believe, why isn’t there a massive refusal to obey these totally unnecessary and capricious orders?

Apparently, you CAN “mess with Texas”.

I have my own theory why Texas is much more restrictive than other Republican States- one of the most powerful politicians to ever come out of Texas is George W. Bush. Many State GOP officeholders owe their careers to Dubya.

Just who does Dubya hate? That's right- Donaldus Maximus. Because President Donald Trump (I love typing those three words) totally clowned ¡JEB! and Karl Rove, he has some hate festering for Big Dawg Trump.

So, after sitting quietly for 20 years (quietly sitting on his hands while his opponents called him Chimpy Monkey-face Bushitler, and allowing eight years of Obama to severely damage our country), he suddenly finds his voice when a man is voted into office (by many of us who strongly defended Bush when he was in office). Because Trump was about to win a landslide re-election, he quietly sits by while his former Staff come out and support Biden. Now, with this Dempanic winding down, he quite possibly put the word out to his old Texas buddies to shut down the State.

I was a vociferous Bush defender. I was even defending him in the years 2006-08, when everybody else pretty much abandoned him. I always thought his silence was because he was "turning the other cheek". No, what it was was that he knew that after 8-10 years, his old proggie buddies would be friends with him again.

Bush hates US as much as he says he hates President Donald Trump (again, I love typing those three words). He hated having to cowtow to us Unwashed Peasants. And Trump is also correct in that the Democrats, the BLM, Antifa, et. al. don't hate him, they hate US- he's just in the way.

This is strange. What happened to this guy? Texans need to hit the streets. Texan Lives Matter and this is ruining many more than he is saving.

Here’s a question: what percentage of TX non-ICU hospital beds have observational status WuFlu patients paid for by Fedzilla in them?

Inquiring minds want to know.

A Texan who was in on a Zoom meeting with me yesterday said that many Texans are up in arms over the lockdowns and mandatory mask orders.

No governor should have this kind of power for more than a few days. Where are the legislatures? When you allow governors to have this kind of power then you no longer have a representative government. You now have dictatorships.
