It was a lark, really. Rhetorical misdirection. I had no agenda other than being cheeky, and hoping someone would think I was funny. So imagine my surprise when I wound up with a blueprint for how we all can most constructively engage social media when interacting with those who hold different views than we do.

If you do wind up getting dragged to the show, make sure that there is no money out of your pocket. That way you can say the show was worth what you paid to see it - zip, zero, etc.
“a fellow Chicago Cubs fan”
There’s your problem right there. ;-)
Go Cards!
Its very good! Brilliant. Way better than todays public school US history class.
“Aaron Burr did”
That’s just downright WITTY
you can turn captions on - and i recommend because otherwise they go by too quickly to comprehend. seeing them on the screen helped me. i think seeing the movie has that advantage over seeing in theater (i would never spend the $$$)
Funny Australian video from a while ago: Why do I need subtitles?
Supposedly in the original print of Mad Max the Australian actors were incomprehensible to American audiences, and so it was dubbed over in American=ish accents.
Might just be an old wives tale
There was a dubbed US version. I’ve seen the Australian version. It’s understandable in comparison to the Jamaican movie.
“the weightier matters are about objective reality”
Well, that’s a problem. Our enemies have rejected the notion of “objective reality”, so you cannot even meaningfully discuss those matters with them.
Hamilton, never will see it. If it has rap music, never will listen to it. I am totally against the racism of black people acting in the roles of white people. It is a sort of racial appropriation.
What is a Chicago Cub? Who is this Rizzo fella or is it a girl?
“All history should be redone in musical rap history.”
Well, the World War II rap musical should be interesting...
“The Harder They Come”?
Hmm, I had a hard time understanding the dialogue the first time I watched it, maybe I got the original version.
“If it has rap music, never will listen to it.”
Meh, I object to the characterization that rap is “music”. It’s talking over music, and usually not great music at that.
You could call it poetry, but considering the very limited grasp of language that most rappers have, it’s not good poetry either.
We watched it on Disney with subtitles. It was entertaining.
What I liked is that it followed pretty well the biography of Hamilton (and Washington) by Ron Chernow. The characters weren’t Social Justice cardboard cutouts.
“Well, the World War II rap musical should be interesting...”
It will be hard to top “Springtime for Hitler in Germany”.
Might have been since I did see that but maybe something else more obscure.
It was so horribly bad, it sucked.
I got up and walked out.
I’ve got season tickets to the shows and really enjoy plays. In about a dozen plays plus per year and many years attending, this was the worst play I have ever seen.
PS. I can’t stand angry beat rap music.
Since Alexander Hamilton was a White Guy, this Play must be about somebody else.
George Hamilton? Nope, he was darker than the guy playing the Lead in the Play.
Linda Hamilton? If the leading Man was a Tranny I guess.
