Tensions among Vox employees erupt on Twitter after journalist signs 'cancel culture' letter
Fox News ^ | July 08 2020 | Joseph A. Wulfsohn

Several staffers at Vox have taken to Twitter after journalist Matthew Yglesias signed the open letter decrying "cancel culture."

Yglesias was one of 150 signatories including other liberal writers, professors and activists who came together to defend civil debate in the face of social media callouts that have become ubiquitous in recent years.

However, Vox critic at large Emily VanDerWerff released a letter of her own that she had written to Vox editors voicing her concerns of Yglesias' inclusion in the anti-cancel culture letter.

It’s all fun and games until it’s you that has no paycheck.

I learned the hard way early on that aligning yourself with jerks to appease them always ends bad

Gotta love the "I don't want Matt to be reprimanded or fired or even asked to submit an apology" even though she publically releases a letter saying he created a hostile work environment for her.

Oh yeah, we really believe you don't want him reprimanded or fired.

Too bad the “shutdown” didn’t include the media and the press.

Until this country as a whole develops a “well, that’s your opinion” response and walks away, the madness will continue.

Americans have fought and died for the concept, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” This current crop of Totalitarian Thinkers makes me sick.

8 Jul: Hotair: Vox’s Ezra Klein Has Thoughts On That Harper’s Letter Criticizing Cancel Culture (Update)
by JOHN SEXTON
I also noted yesterday that in the wake of this backlash, Yglesias had apparently deleted all of his tweets. Today we learned why. Vox founder Ezra Klein posted this subtweet about the situation a short time ago:...

8 Jul: RedState: Ezra Klein’s Bizarre View On Free Speech Gives Us Frightening Insight to the Left
by Brandon Morse
Vox co-founder Ezra Klein has rarely ever presented me a reason to take him seriously. His website is a hub for everything society is learning to despise, be it mistruths, half-baked philosophy, and some of the worst takes humanity has to offer about any particular subject.
Recently, there’s been trouble in paradise at Vox. Vox writer Matt Yglesias signed his name onto a letter put out by Harper’s Magazine that promoted the idea of free speech, which is a huge scandal on the left...

He’s not mentioning the Harper’s letter or Yglesias directly, but it’s clear what he’s talking about. In fact, Yglesias responded to this tweet by asking if he was allowed to respond. It’s clear he’d previously promised Klein not to make any more controversial statements on Twitter which explains why he deleted everything yesterday. Yglesias has already deleted his tweet but not before several people got a screenshot of it...

Update: Ezra Klein says he would never try to get his buddy Matt Yglesias fired...

Feminists vs. transsexual freaks. It’s been going on for a while. The feminists are reestablishing their higher rank in the hierarchy of weirdos.

I heard about this yesterday, and couldn’t find any listing of the 150 people. Didn’t even see it at Harpers!

Anyway, here it is - link is embedded the in the Fox article that was cited. Thanks for posting.

Whilst seeiming offended by everything, these lunatics would not be offended by shooting you into a ditch or transporting you to a reeducation/slave worker camp

Cancel culture wants to cancel people for opposing cancel culture. Is anyone surprised?

Those days are over.

Now, when arguing the second amendment, my opponents say, well that’s your opinion... but it is not. It is the law.

Remember when that worthless blog was billed as a non-partisan “explainer” site? Yeah, that lasted about 5 seconds.

“Cancel culture wants to cancel people for opposing cancel culture.”

Has a hint of a Geico commercial to it. “Playing ‘Marco Polo’ WITH Marco Polo.”

The history of the world shows when totalitarians take power it’s almost impossible to get rid of them.

That would be true here too...

White Liberal ‘elites’ and their flunkies are the enemy...

It’s not a hostile work environment. It’s a diverse work environment - and only minimally so at that. It merely takes the edge off of a small part of the extremism.

We must stop caving to the cancel culture. Stop listening to lies and tacitly accepting them. Just say no, shake your head and walk away. Their stupidity is infectious. Don’t catch their disease. It kills faster than plague.
