Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, refused to say whether shell vote for President Trump in November and signaled that she would not campaign against presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
The self-proclaimed moderate Republican from Maine told the New York Times this week she does not campaign against former colleagues. Biden and Collins worked together in the Senate.
I do not campaign against my colleagues in the Senate, she said of Biden, adding that she knows him very well from their days in Congress together.
My inclination is just to stay out of the presidential and focus on my own race, she added.
Collins publicly announced that she would not be voting for Trump ahead of the 2016 election.
Collins, who has represented Maine in the Senate since 1997, may face one of the toughest reelection campaigns of her career as Democrats from outside the state pour in money for her likely Democratic opponent, Maine House Speaker Sara Gideon, in an effort to take control of the Senate.
The race has been rated a toss-up by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.

Once!!! Not if, once!!
Oh my God, you are so full of sh!t, MARY.
You got it. If the Republicans were united and backed Trump the whole way they would at least have an even chance of winning. But backbones are in short supply in the GOP.
The Trump supporters will be out in force in this election and she needs those Trump supporters to hold their noses and vote for her. If she gives them a reason to leave that line blank, she could be in trouble, so she's wise to keep her criticisms of Trump on low volume.

And we'll be able to tell, how? ;^)
She wants to win her election in Maine this year. I hope she does win. We need 51 senators to get the majority and the Majority Leader......hope they dont re-elect McConnell as majority leader though.
Sure give us 51 senators like this. Face smacking self. No we need 61 republican senators to get anything done in the Senate. 51 is lowballing it just to set an agenda. The number should be as close, at or above 61 as possible.
With states like Maine you are not going to get a true conservative. Thing is, Collins has voted for almost all of Trumps judges. Democrats like Doug Jones (Alabama) have voted almost 100% against Trumps judges including against Kavanaugh.
So what. The Uniparty has stolen Trump’s first term. And for that Collins is indictable.
We have way bigger issues with our corrupt institutions than individual SCOTUS nominees. These Ivy League bred SCOTUS judges are not going to save us. Guaranteed.
Its a fools errand to count chickens on GOP judges. Kavanaugh has already betrayed us and he will do so again. Ill care about Collins election exactly as much as Graham and Romney did of Trumps in 2016: Not at all.
Collins is a idiot, but the reason that the Republicans almost always lose to the democrats is not the idiocy of the RINOs (that's part of it but not the main thing) -- it's the idiocy of posts like the above.
The first and most important obligation these GOP members of Congress have is to win their own races.
Remember how many vulnerable Senate Republicans there were back in 2016? And remember how astonishing it was that almost every one of them successfully defended their seats even if it meant distancing themselves from Trump in that campaign season?
Keep in mind that every one of those GOP senators won their states by a larger margin than Trump did.
If these senators have internal polls that show they are in a better position to win by giving muted or non-existent support to President Trump, then so be it.
[Once!!! Not if, once!!]
Why did Maine elect a Senator that thinks like a 3rd grader?

Im no fan of Susan Collins, but shes won four statewide elections in Maine ... which is four more than Donald Trump has won.
AMEN. Some people here are just damn trolls.
A prediction of a 6 to 11 seat loss for us is so damn laughable. At worst, we break even. No net pickups or losses.
I still say we pick up one or two. The latest Arizona poll has Trump up 4 and McSally up 4.
Id really be surprised if the GOP picks up a net of any Senate seats and thats only because this election year has them defending far more seats than the Democrats are.

Interestingly, the “idiot” that wrote that voted for Romney and Trump. Sadly, the same can not be said of Romney himself who supported Hillary and her SCOTUS in 2016.
The problem here is the base is not holding the GOP accountable when they support the open borders and unfair trade agenda. We do not have an opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance. Vote for RINOs all you want. They’ll never support you and yours. And in another decade or two we’ll be out voted/aged out. Adios, America.

We pick up in Alabama, of course....
but also have PU chances in Minnesota, Michigan, and New Hampshire.
Youre forgetting that many of the voters in Trumps base are DEMOCRATS. And in 2016 many of these voters supported Trump in the presidential election but cast their votes for Democrats in their local House and Senate races.
I dont see the GOP picking up more than one of those four seats unless it gets a coherent message out there to rally their supporters.
