The government will technically run out of money on September 30 unless Congress passes appropriations bills. The appropriation for the legislative branch includes the demand that the Confederate statues in public areas be removed and returned to the states that donated them.

I have always questioned Lee’s integrity. Election Day 1864 was clear evidence that the North would not be deterred and that the Confederacy had no hope of achieving any of its goals. Yet Lee continued to lead the fight even up until the day before Appomattox. The lives lost from the time of Lincoln’s reelection are the fault of Davis, Benjamin, and Lee. Those lives on both sides were wasted.

Hypocrites...heritage is important and should be respected except the heritage of the Southerners.
They will be coming for that Tennessee state flag next. I was born in Rockwood, TN and I love that flag.
It was constitutionally not Lee’s business to do this. More to the point was that Davis didn’t start laying the foundations for what the Boers did in the South African War. One is only defeated if one feels defeated. There are always some determined men, think Forrest, who will keep raising hell as long as they breath. These men are the real terror of the behemoth state. Such men will soon be needed again.
