It was the single largest contribution by private individuals in support of a public hospital in the U.S.
It came with the condition it would be renamed Zuckerberg San Francisco General hospital
The name change immediately sparked backlash from some medical staff

I read recently about a rich, hedge-fund alumni who donated $150 million to his alma-mater, University of Chicago.
And I thought: WHY?!
Its a good institution, but it already has a $10 billion endowment, so its not struggling for survival. U Chicago isn’t the worst leftist school, but many of the entitled leftist brats there, both in the administration and among the student body, probably categorically hate the donor anyway.
Why not give $1 million to 150 high schools? The money would be so much more appreciated and would impact so many more people.
Same goes for people like Zuckerberg and his wife.
I mean, they did give the $75M, right? Zuckerberg is a total slimeball, but they did make the donation. The Left is insane. Good to see them attacking their own.

If Zuckerberg cared, he’d take that $75 million and spread it out to rural hospitals across the US - for example...

I think he solely wants to see his name on a major metropolitan area hospital and nothing else.
Liberals are attacking FB because FB won't bow to their demands to remove 'hate speech'.
Liberals want to control content and Zuckerberg has resisted their demands but signs are he's going to give in.
It won't save him. They'll find other reasons to hate him but he's going to give then control over content.
Personally I find the ego involved in insisting a hospital be named after you to be quite disturbing.

I know we’re supposed to all be slobbering in worship at the feet of nurses but, frankly, many in their profession have pissed me off lately with their condemnation of their anti-lockdown protest, their effusive support for BLM, and their stupid ass Tik Tok dances.
