The lying media starts with a statement full of caveats like “if true” This protects them from lawsuits. Then the “if true” part gets left off as the made up story gets quoted in multitudes of ways. Lawsuit protection now is that the Copying media says “as reported in the New York Times”. The underlying premise is still a lie or a made-up fake story. Very frustrating.
