Now, you need to be an expert on the 15 new scripting languages that have been released in the past 6 months to qualify for some of these positions. And that includes knowing all the current buzzwords used to describe them.There is react, angular, hadoop which are pretty new. But anyone who's been around can pick it up in a few weeks. Unfortunately, most employers do not want to train you.

Unfortunately, most employers do not want to train you.
Training in general has been cannibalistic - the models are built around getting cast-offs from other companies where candidates have already learned the skills, with actual offered training courses mostly being about HR/EO stuff which is there to satisfy legal and political requirements.

Hadoop’s been around 7-10 years and some trade rags call it obsolete.
