Click on US in the left most column. Wait a few seconds for the changes to propagate across the page. Click on Daily Cases in the lower right corner. Daily cases yesterday were 40K, highest ever.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

If a quarantine saves just one life, it's worth it.

Hospitals are open for business and allowing people to come in for a wide variety of treatments. People who come in are tested. You’re going to get a lot of positive hits. But that doesn’t mean these people are ending up in a bed, attached to a ventilator. Mostly likely they’ll get a quick hernia operation (or whatever) and be sent home.

Increase in number of cases isn’t even interesting.
Deaths are way down.

Yep. Sadly in Florida, at least, they’re also seeing a higher positive rate (approaching 15% after hovering at 10%).

Outbreak in the sun-belt is probably tied more to AC, and it seems in several cases, tightly packed discotechs and bars.

The “case count” does not translate to “death count”. The disease is simply being found, in relatively innocuous forms, most of which require no hospitalization at all.

In spite of all the efforts to prevent the spread of the infections, herd immunity is also spreading.

COVID-19 Wuhan virus is becoming something much like a bad cold.

Take supplemental zinc and treat sore throats both aggressively and early on. One ounce of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water every day is remarkably effective.

Exactly. I was tested last Sunday because I had a outpatient procedure on Tuesday. (Had to be exactly two days prior to the procedure.) Now that hospitals are opening up to a lot of outpatient/non-eminent life-threatening procedures, there are tons of people being tested. And then there is the contact tracing crap occurring. By the way, I did not have the ChiCom flu. Was kinda hoping I already had it, but no luck.

My threshold isn’t the same as yours. Mom is pushing 92 very hard, I’m retirement age and have multiple comorbidities.
So I have some concerns.

Meanwhile, case count is up but death count is still down. At this point I feel like I’m watching the daily death count of people falling in the tub.

The case count is a pretty worthless statistic at this point. What is a “case”?

I’ve actually heard that most of us have plenty of zinc in our systems but need a way for more of it to get into the cells. And one of the best ways to do it is with coffee.
