I love the Aussies, but Downer, the Aussie top diplomat to the UK, was a Hillary/Obama lover who was working to sink George P. and through him, sink Trump.

To rephrase my point: even the plentiful anti-BiBi elements in our government were not pro-Obama.
Obama was (is) viewed as a very dangerous joke who hated us, pretty much regardless of political affiliation. Just recently it’s come out we had to petition Putin (who is a Russian nationalist, has his own interests, but doesn’t actually hate Jewish people like Obama) to stop a UN resolution that would have pushed back our borders to 1967 — and ultimately ended with our destruction. The USA only stopped when it leaked that Russia was going to veto — the unilateral betrayal of Israel being too costly for the Democrats in the election.
So,no, there were no Obama allies, even among BiBi haters.
The most likely scenario is the CIA told us what to jump and we said “how high?”
Embarrassing to us Israelis, but we have to do what we have to do.
That’s also why Israel the country plays it very cool between Republicans and Democrats while our nation’s population , if we could vote in the USA would make Texas look like a purple state.
