How about we start with the concept that no one, regardless of their motivation, has a right to damage, deface or destroy something that does not belong to them and is not in danger of causing them immediate physical harm.
The author couldn’t be more wrong. Look, I have no emotional investment in the Confederacy. But I have great respect for the poem quoted below.
Oh, and one more thing. Some folks argue that since the Confederates fought against the United States, they should not be honored. But Sitting Bull and Geronimo also fought against the United States. Should they be erased from history too?

Seeking to remove these monuments flies in the face of those sentiments.
They are right in the sense this is not the hill to die on at this moment.
They are wrong in the sense that it ultimately does matter. But the symptom of the cancer requires a different approach. Congress isn't going to get it. Nor will state government. Nor will the judiciary. The solution must come from the people in the original sense of the word that holds ultimate power: the militia.

They are impulsive, violent, and have virtually no moral compass. They shoot one another. They loot stores. They rob......OK, now I know there will be some bleeding-heart that will say WHITES DO ALL OF THAT ALSO!!! Yes, but there are two BIG differences. Whites do it RARELY compared to urban blacks AND,more importantly, the white population in general DESPISES whites who engage in these acts. We don’t DEFEND their actions. WE CONDEMN their actions. Quit tearing statues down and tell your people to clean up their act!
