Known as a fastidious note taker, Bolton has filled this book’s nearly 500 pages with minute and often extraneous details, including the time and length of routine meetings and even, at one point, a nap. Underneath it all courses a festering obsession with his enemies, both abroad (Iran, North Korea) and at home (the media, “the High-Minded,” the former defense secretary Jim Mattis). The book is bloated with self-importance, even though what it mostly recounts is Bolton not being able to accomplish very much. It toggles between two discordant registers: exceedingly tedious and slightly unhinged.

You can sense Bolton’s excitement when he describes going home “at about 5:30” for a change of clothes because he expected to be at the White House “all night.” It’s therefore an awful shock when Trump decided to call off the strikes at the very last minute, after learning they would kill as many as 150 people. “Too many body bags,” Trump told him. “Not proportionate.”

All sides of the political fence can recognize a chicken hawk warmonger like Bolton. Admitted he dodged the draft during Vietnam yet he constantly advocates intervention in disordered countries, where we have no real interest. People like Bolton are a threat to everyone’s family - we don’t WANT him, Kristol, Will or the other neocons in the Republican Party and the Ocasio-Cortez Dems would just love his crackpot views. They can have what my third grade teacher called the “little tattle-tail”, gossiping for money while backstabbing the guy who never should have hired him.
John Bolton had one Friend in the world who would hire him.

He doesn’t give a DAMN about that. Apparently the book has already gone to print and been read by numerous people without security clearance in spite of still not being approved.

True. Guy had better stretch his retirement from the .gov because he won’t be gainfully employed again. The left will use his for their goals but they still hate his guts. Wonder if his book advance is contingent on it actually being released.

Wacko John Bolton’s “exceedingly tedious”(New York Times) book is made up of lies & fake stories. Said all good about me, in print, until the day I fired him. A disgruntled boring fool who only wanted to go to war. Never had a clue, was ostracized & happily dumped. What a dope!

He has destroyed whatever decency he had, and Bolton is now “Burnt Toast” forever!!! He nay sell some books, but, that buys him zilch and he will not harm POTUS, Donald J. Trump...politically, one iota...period!!! Bolten = Major Butt Wipe!!!

You’re right. It won’t hurt Trump “one iota”. I remember “tell all” books released just before Clinton and Obama that I thought for sure would ruin their chances to win. Didn’t hurt them “one iota”.
