Atlanta police shot and killed a black man late Friday night following a struggle outside a Wendys restaurant on the citys southside, in an incident that inflamed tensions over police use of force and racial injustice that have roiled Atlanta and cities across the nation since the Memorial Day death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis.
Video of the shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, who had allegedly fallen asleep in his car and blocked the restaurants drive-through, went viral across social media. Protesters marching for a third weekend in Atlanta for justice for Floyd and other black men and women killed by police quickly demanded a full investigation Saturday of the Brooks shooting, and the Georgia NAACP called for the termination of Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields.

Hey everybody, ignore this stupid F-$K.
I’m sick of people violently resisting arrest and forcing the cops into life-and-death situations. The ultimate dumb move is grabbing a weapon off a police officer and trying to use it against them. It’s ironic that if the officers had used the taser themselves when the perp started pounding their heads, the ensuing mayhem could have been avoided. But that would be police brutality in the new Crazy Mixed Up America.
Here is the 1 hour 30 minute video from the officers video cam. It was knocked off his uniform when he tried to put the cuffs on the guy at the 29 minute mark...
I guess all of that kneeling, knocking down statues, censorship of movies and TV shoews, etc. did not work.
All of the virtue signalling swept away and systemic ray’s sis reset to 11????
Where did you get your crystal ball? He would have gone home to his mom’s and would have been groggy by morning when the cops could go pick him up.
You part of the cancel culture too? If people don’t agree with your particular line of thought they become a F-$K? Just like the Democrats do? Think.
It was NOT life and death for the cops, just the drunk guy.
Here are the links to both officer’s video cams. Both video cams get knocked off their uniforms before the shooting occurs.

Maybe the cops should have just let him drive home drunk just wake him up and leave him there at the drive-thru and Wendy’s until he wakes up and let him drive home drunk
The perp was armed with a taser and fired that taser at the officer. This justifies the shooting.
You don’t think that once the cops had his car, his plates couldn’t be run to determine his address and he couldn’t be scooped up later? Again, he was on foot. Cops don’t get to shoot someone for running.
If the cops got tased..they could have been killed...glad your legal skills could avoid getting you killed in a matter of moments by an aggressive criminal yes he was a criminal.
You don’t want to take into account many of the posters here who have explained why this situation was dangerous for the police officers. You don’t want to respond or accept the fact that this person resisting arrest and the fact that drug use by someone can result in their further aggressive behavior such as killing someone on the road drunk or worse
Why the hell did these idiots have to drag a drunk, snoozing guy out of his car to arrest him? They escalated it beyond all reason. Block off his car. Take his keys away. God forbid TALK to him. Jeez so many people here support these new militaristic police tactics. This is NOT how policing used to be. Unreal
He was running AWAY. He was no longer a threat. You don’t want to acknowledge that.
DUI laws likely forced the officers hands. Once they determined he was drunk by field tests and the handheld breathalyzer they needed to confirm the results at the precinct. If you watch officers body cams, there was no indiction he was going to resist arrest until they tried to put the cuffs on him..
Again, he was on foot. No longer a threat. You don’t get to kill him.
You realize he wasnt just in a parking space taking a snooze, right? He was blocking the drive-thru lane. Fell asleep on the way to getting his order.
Oh, you're right. People had to drive around him to get their fries and shakes.
That is totally a death penalty offense. Thanks for clearing that up.
I watched a few interviews with police chiefs that said the officers had a right to fire. I know opinions are like a certain part of the body and everyone has one. The mayor said the officer shouldn’t have fired.
My take is Brooks is still a threat if he doesn’t drop the TAZER. Even if the TAZER is out of cartridges, it has a stun feature if applied directly to the body.
Here is an article by a former FBI agent and DOJ prosecutor:
From the article:
The APD manual states an officer may only use deadly force when:
1. He or she reasonably believes that the suspect possesses a deadly weapon or any object, device, or instrument which, when used offensively against a person, is likely to or actually does result in serious bodily injury and when he or she reasonably believes that the suspect poses an immediate threat of serious bodily injury to the officer or others.
Good rant.
I wish your daughter good luck on her wedding day.
