Cops can be real jerks..especially NYPD. Part of it might be to exert authority to help stay alive.
But I understand and would never want to do away with them
I had an incident of crazy banging on my door and was in fear for my life. It was a cops circling my house because they thought I was housing a fleeing burglar from another neighborhood who was staying in my subdivision (from license plate)...who had fled when they showed up.
I will never forget it.
I peaked through the window and saw no cops cars and yelled I am not opening the door.
Finally I was convinced they were real cops and stepped outside. But I could have been part of the burglars and had a gun. They would have no way to know.
I told them that I didnt know who they were talking about and they couldn’t come in unless they had a warrant.
They kept saying YOU KNOW XYZ and WE KNOW HE IS IN THERE.
I was dumbfounded and freaked out.
They could have pushed in if they wanted.
It was surreal. I was hacked off
But I understood.
Wow, what a story!
Alfred Hitchcock said that the thing he was most afraid of were cops. Because if they choose, they have the power to ruin your life and your freedom.
I have utmost respect for them, but I do fear the few who cannot be identified as bad seeds until it’s too late
