the entire Emergency Response Team at the Buffalo Police Department has resigned in a show of solidarity for the cops suspended for shoving an elderly man to the ground.
A total of about 57 officers walked off the job Friday, though they are still employed with the police department -- just no longer on the ERT ... according to WIVB reporter Dave Greber.
The move comes less than 24 hours after video surfaced showing cops in heavy gear shoving 75-year-old Martin Gugino even though he was NOT being physically confrontational. A rep for Buffalo PD allegedly told a lcoal reporter the man was injured when he "tripped and fell," but the video shows that's clearly not the case.
Gugino started bleeding from his head and lay motionless immediately after his head hit the pavement.
The Buffalo Police Commissioner took swift action in announcing the 2 officers involved were suspended without pay. The Mayor of Buffalo said he was deeply disturbed over the incident, adding the elderly man is in serious but stable condition.

I wish that were true these days.
So I watched the video several times. The guy touched the officers with his phone. The officer gave the guy a light push away and he fell. I think they should have arrested the guy when he touched the officers. You don’t touch a police officer. Not a good idea.
but lots of unarmed citizens of Buffalo will be killed by armed black criminals.
Looks to me like the man was interferring asking for a confrontation and likely headlines....what part of 'Get Out of The Way! did he not understand??????
Then he trips backwards over his own two feet!
Shades of Stalin. When he had a stroke there were no competent doctors to attend him, because he had recently purged them. Oh well ....
I am surprised folks don’t see where this is going.
Think robocop.
It can’t be accused of racism, and will hate all humans equally.
Folks will figure this out, and the human cop will become as quaint as horse-back policing.
The guy was asking for a confrontation as the still photos show.....this group were under orders to proceed to enforce the curview....this bozo tried to interfer ....and again...What part of ‘Get out of the way did he not understand?
My wife and I did just that more than 10 years ago. Quit our jobs. Sold our home. Packed up the kids and moved to the Gulf Coast. It was a bit difficult leaving all our family and friends behind but, we’ve not regretted the move for a minute.
Cops in every big Blue city should call in sick and let the Progressive pols deal with the situation.
We are moving to the Tampa area after I sell my remaining condo in Broward.
My Mom keeps on mentioning Florida..but for ONCE Id love to know how it is to live in a Republican community, any suggestions? I’ll take my chances with Hurricanes, anything is better than living here in Commiefornia, the pandering to looters, the destruction of our city and they just dont care, they just dont care
If the police are advancing a line, get the hell out of the way. If you’re 75, REALLY get out of the way, preferably by staying home.
I didn’t think the police office was that rough - he didn’t exactly bulldoze the guy - he shoved him. The guy fell like a European soccer player. Hope he’s ok, and maybe had some sense knocked into him.
Sure the hell is. The article basically says the quit the force. Fake news!!!!
I watched the video several times. The 75-year-old man at one point reached and touched the police officerss gun or gun belt. The officer looked surprised, and as a reaction shoved the man back. The man kind of tripped over his own feet. I put this 90% on the 75-year-old man and 10% on the police officer. Obviously, the officer didnt intend to hurt this guy. He certainly doesnt deserve to be fired.
Is Tampa a Republican area..I know some areas are more left leaning some right leaning..Tampa is very pretty, it would be cool to live next to the water so when I look outside I can see a lake
I think Tampa/Hillsborough County is a Dem run county
Look at the antifa helmet in his left hand—this “old man” was an antifa asshole.
I dated a Officer who was Head of D.A.R.E....he said the public has no idea at all of the people they contend with every single day.....then he shared about those. It was a mind boggling lesson I will never forget.
Additionally my Uncle Was Sheriff of Niagra Falls and Buffalo.....shared a lot of stories of how often officers are killed, attacked and maimed. There’s a reason they’ve been given body armor in our days.
.....until you walk in an officers shoes for even one day...the public really hasn’t a clue, they really don’t.
