Cristobal has started to move toward the Gulf of Mexico after stalling over Campeche Mexico. Tropical Storm and storm surge watches have been issued along the Northern Gulf of Mexico coast.
Most of the convection is located to the east of the storm.

Thank you so much for posting the hurricane threads I forward these to all my friends and they just love them it has really helped through the hurricanes as not only a way for information but also to share feelings and experiences and come together during a difficult time.
I so agree with you that the new cycle will now switch over to the endless hurricane coverage I never thought that this coverage could be welcomed but it is. I wonder if the Brainiac news reporters well now again say the mantra “We’re All in This Together”. Ha
Family called from Florida yesterday saying they were pounded with rain continuing today .....
We are water logged, doing the backstroke across the FL peninsula. Been raining for a week.

Agree the buoys are in bad shape. I spent way too much time trying to find a functioning buoy while looking for SST. “No recent data” is more often than not the buoy data finding.

Thanks for your local report! Cristobal slowed down as it approached the coastline. This was our not-so-dry run to open the 2020 storm season.
Looks like it’s presently right on top of New Orleans.... a little more east than predicted, possibly.
