Anti-fascist action, more popularly known as “antifa”, can be best described as international socialism on amphetamines. Driven by progressive ideology and “workers’ rights”, it has adopted violence and intimidation as a tactic to quash conservatives and nationalists – in Australia, Europe and, most recently, the US.
Antifa, or militant progressives, have always existed and flourished in democracies. Militant progressives were part of the the 1960s and 1970s counter-culture, and were active during the anti-globalisation protests of the 1990s and 2000s.
It is difficult to accurately state when antifa began. It is more of an evolution of progressive militancy than a birth.
You are correct. They are all the same with different names. Classic planned insurrection. It works in 3rd world countries. Are we on the threshold of becoming 3rd world? Liberals think so.

From my observations two nights ago:
What was interesting here: the peaceful protesters, largely black and Latino, were doing their thing in the afternoon in the square; the chief of police, who’s Latino took a knee with them; mellow. A curfew and everyone disbursed.
Shortly thereafter the fucking agitators roll in, start throwing shit at police, spray painting. *ALL WHITE*.
At least in my little corner of the world, the people most affected are trying to make things better, and they are a very different group from the assholes smashing things and looting. Far from perfect, but the people who care about the community realize that most of our elected officials do, too, there is communication going on. the change isn’t fast enough to suit some, but no one argues the necessity for it, the cops *DO* need better training and a different attitude, IMHO it was a lot better when the cops walked their beats and knew almost everyone rather than thinking of us as ‘civilians’.
There are also very few African Americans in this area (most nonwhites are Latino, just over 2% black) The honest protesters- all masks, social distancing, respectful towards police, cleaned up after themselves. Respect. The agitators; just there to start shit; white trash for the most part, not Antifa, not white supremacists, just trash.
(Note, we had an incident a few years ago where a kid was killed by a cop because the officer thought it was a real gun, not an airsoft one with the orange removed; lots of protests, and to be honest, *I* played in pretty much that same field with BB guns decades before; not a ghetto, just an open area where kids do stuff like that, so there is some residual anger or at least sadness, in the community about that incident)
Agreed. The American version of “Antifa” is basically Seattle Socialist/Black Bloc Marxism rebranded and given a license for violence.

They came out of Satan’s ass. And they consist of young impressional men that were influenced by socialist teachers in high school and college. The teachers join in the fray, usually in ludicrous ninja-esque costumes with bicycle locks, and this is their entertainment (better than paintball) where they get even with “THE MAN”; this is the bourgeois trying not to be bourgeois — in other word, a lot of self hatred that they have not measured up to their dads or some capitalist figure like Donald Trump in their minds. And in the midst of their self hatred and delusion, they believe they are not free but have been unjustly coerced to be teachers. So it’s time to get back at “THE MAN” for spawning such an unjust and vile system. J’accuse! The accuser. Point the finger. Like I said they come out of the ass of Satan.

It originally evolved out of KGB tactics in post WW2 Europe. The idea was to co-opt genuine hatred of former Nazis and the Nazi system into an anti-capitalist movement.
One problem is that it is quite decentralized. There’s no central coordinating committee, no way to trace the network; classic ‘cell’ organization, bust every single Antifa sympathizer in Oakland and interrogate them with extremely effective measures and you WILL won’t get a trail leading much of anywhere else.
Their tactics are based very much on the idea you only really need a few people to *start* the rioting, no more than a dozen, once it starts, the actual instigators back off, so all the cops ever bust are dimbulbs who see everyone else doing it.

Antifa are middle class white kids whose parents were 60s activists — libs & lefties who are now esconced in academia, politics & media. Their permissive parents are probably the most influential group egging them on.
Antifa’s fanatical leftist ideology dictates they must express *solidarity* with, and no doubt they may study & learn asymmetrical urban warfare tactics of, radical Muslims, but they ain’t Muslims.

I am glad you posted this. Most people don’t know that the Brown Shirts were Antifa. In fact, Ernst Rohm was recruited to be Hitler’s “personal” army, even though Rohm was against any other totalitarianism other than his. As all antifa, the means ar justified by the end result. Rohm, who was a vicious, hateful homosexual and sadist, was more than willing to be Hitler’s “muscle” because he planned to use him and then kill him at some later date. Of course, Hitler was a whole lot smarter, and murdered him at the first point that he didn’t need him. Antifa is all about Any means possible. Rohm would have been a perfect antifa warrior today.
