"He should have quit first."
Probably (hopefully) what I would have done is quit.
I'm not sticking up for Drew Brees, just trying to understand why he would go back on his word.
He's got to live with himself now, with his wife and kids knowing he's spineless.

Good point. Backbone is rare these days. I feel sorry for Drew. His teammates are intellectually and morally lacking. They may feel and have the right to feel the way they do. But their feelings are not based on facts. They are brainwashed to feel sorry for themselves.

>>Brees needs to be prepared for this sort of stuff. He's old. He's rich. He doesn't need a broken back. I'd retire and tell them to F themselves.<<
That door just closed! He had a chance to be a hero and ended up in this shame.

Lots of cowardice out there. I don’t know much about Drew but it could be a case where he just doesn’t care about politics. To him this pandering may not be personal - just business.

You feel sorry for a sellout.

Well in Drew's defense, he knows that without his (mostly) black offensive line he would be a cripple.
Probably too late. Every time he drops back to pass now, he's going to get mauled.
And that's before the other team gets to him.

I feel sorry his physical well-being depends on his teammates. Personally, I would resign.

My response is, as I have said before, Every 'White' person in America should just say no to professional sports. Let's see how these athletes and their team owners do with a much smaller revenue stream. Also don't buy team/player merchandise(I never did understand wearing player jerseys/clothes). These 'people of color' don't want us, don't need us? Well why the hell should we support them?
If people need a sport fix they can watch high school or college sports, they have players that put more heart and effort into the games than most professionals anyway, even little league, Friday night lights and oh yeah girls fastpitch is kick ass.

He is on a much larger team. If he loses the country, who will pay his millions? Is it even relevant that the NFL exists any longer? It seems to me that it used to be a form of entertainment and diversion, but now it has taken on the role of social reformer. You cannot even watch sports shows without getting lectures from very athletic, talented individuals who know nothing but what the “glean” from a propagandistic media. Just play the damn football you are paid millions for and save your comments for your own time. The NFL is NOT your platform, it is an entertainment venue. If you lose sight of that, you will be forced to find other employment with your other “talents”.

Drew Brees proves he is a coward and will grovel when challenged.
He is a millionaire. If he can’t trust his teammates, he could retire while preserving his self-respect. He could live comfortably and keep his pride. He has now demonstrated he has no core values at all.
Why would you want to continue to play a game with those who do not respect you, Drew. You blew this, BIG TIME.
He is now going to find out his groveling will never be enough.

Great point. I’m SO disgusted with Brees. Really thought he was better than this...

Roger that.
They killed the music industry, the movie industry, and now professional sports.
They can go screw themselves.
