The lefts multi-decade project to teach everyone that America is irredeemably racist has led to the emergence of a new regime in American life.
Amid the scenes circulating on social media this week of protesters and rioters and burned out storefronts and police barricades, two of them stand out as harbingers of what all of this means for the future of mainstream American society.
The first was a video clip of a small group of white people kneeling down before a group of black people. A white man at the head of the kneeling group was praying, his voice shaking with emotion: Father, we ask for forgiveness from our black brothers and sisters for years and years of racism, of systematic racism.
The second was a clip of a large gathering in the affluent DC suburb of Bethesda, Maryland. Nearly a thousand protesters, most of them white, their hands raised as if in prayer, engaged in a kind of collective woke sermon, repeating after a man on a microphone: I will use my voice in the most uplifting way possible, and do everything in my power to educate my community. I will love my black neighbors the same as my white ones
Protesters in Bethesda attend a woke sermon to cry about their white guilt. Note that not a single one of them is social distancing. Two weeks ago, the media would've called them terrorists. pic.twitter.com/rOJCsmPs9v

More than the rampant looting and the street battles, more than the clashes between police and protesters, these scenes of white people genuflecting in mass public affirmations of their own guilt is the key to understanding where all this is headed.
The model at work here is the Chinese Cultural Revolution, with its mass struggle sessions in which anyone deemed insufficiently sympathetic to the proletariat, or thought to have an excessively bourgeois lifestyle, was subjected to public humiliations, paraded through the streets, assaulted, denounced, and put on display as objects of scorn. Often these struggle sessions ended in false confessions and pleas for mercy.
Obviously, no one in America is being paraded through the streets against their will. But by rushing to profess their supposed guilt for racism, these people are admitting that they need publicly to affirm their allegiance to woke identity politics. This represents nothing less than the emergence of a new regime in American life. What is now a voluntary and seemingly spontaneous public affirmation of progressive ideology will in time become a requirement. If you want a career or a public platform or a professional life in mainstream society, youll have to profess allegiance to the cultural left.
Already, we see examples of how this will play out. This week, Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer Grant Napear, who has called NBA games since 1988, resigned after tweeting ALL LIVES MATTER Sunday night in response to a question from former Kings star DeMarcus Cousins asking him for his take on the Black Lives Matter movement.
Within days, Napear had also lost his popular sports talk radio show. He later issued a public apology to the Sacramento Bee. Im not as educated on BLM as I thought I was, Napear said. I had no idea that when I said All Lives Matter that it was counter to what BLM was trying to get across.
No matter. For the sin of being insufficiently woke about BLM, Napears career is over.
You dont need to stretch your imagination to see how this process might repeat itself in the future, and on a mass scale. Anyone with a job in the public eye or even a significant social media following who doesnt publicly affirm the ideological preferences of the Left might be subject to similar treatment. To a certain extent, this is already the case.
And it has been a long time coming. What were seeing now is the result of a decades-long project on the left that is now bearing fruit in American civic life. That project has perhaps found its fullest expression in the New York Times 1619 Project, which takes as its starting point that America was founded to protect and preserve slavery, and that the American constitutional system is the source of our societys ills, foremost among them being racism.
That is, America as such is the root cause of the evils that now beset us, and it is America as such that must be transformed in order to right the wrongs of the past. And if you dont get on board with that transformation then you probably wont have a place in the new America.
Got my husband that book last Christmas. It’s interesting
Than you for this. It’s very interesting. Especially scary how family members will betray one another in the worst possible ways.
They need to get off their pills and get a reality check.
And...Why do so many people want to come to “Racist” America?
I hope you’re right. Not sure I see enough evidence yet to warrant those conclusions, but, hopefully you’re right :)
This is the end of a 4th turning”
Or the beginning.
And yah, people who have read that book are pretty worried right now, and I’m among them....cause we know that everything is in play, and we aren’t sure how it plays out
Wins have directions... likes storms. Right now the storm’s over our heads and blowing hard - but the wind’s moving the violence out to sea. We’ve won, but it’ll be a while before that’s clear to everyone.
.
good point.

God I just want to puke...
Im a woman and I have long said the same thing. Sure there are a few exceptions but you cant base party or government policies on exceptions ( no more can you base social policies on exceptions to group tendencies). Im not so sure that it was an unmitigated positive that women got the vote.
“Got my husband that book last Christmas. Its interesting”
Good on you! I hope he reads it. It is not an easy read, but it is the most profound book I’ve ever read (and I read a lot of history and culture). I have three copies. I keep one that I mark up and pull it out at times like this and many times throughout the year. Been doing that since I first read the book in 1998.
I’ve yet to see them miss a call from the book. It’s like having a crystal ball — that works!
IC Clearly
“”I dont get it. All Lives Matter. Seems pretty simple.””
It does, doesn’t it? But it sure stirs up a lot of anger for some reason. Because blacks hate whitey, I guess we’re not allowed to have respect for ourselves; lead decent lives! It makes as much sense as the president’s statement after Charlottesville - “good and bad on both sides”! They made a big deal out of that and WHY? Why on earth would that be so difficult to comprehend except their sole reason for getting up in the morning is to find something to be offended about! They see it as the only reason for their existence...
Every stinkin’ person advancing this mindset since obozo got to the WH, needs to be held accountable - including him. He brought it all about. We’re hearing the term “transforming America” more on the news now.. Transform it how - by destroying it? Who’s going to build it back up for them? They’re not capable of doing it.
We can lump cable news in with MSM now as there is no difference. Took something like this for me to see it.
...how it plays out...

It’s been awhile for me, but doesn’t each 4th turning carry the seeds of the next 1st one?
I’d guess it depends who wins.
Right now, the majority of the prog population lives in CA, NY, & maybe IL (?). Add blue cities in red states. How many are illegal? How many of those have left? How many who stayed contribute to the state finances? What do the Blue areas do with a destroyed infrastructure, no income, and no Federal bailout?
$100B from the oligarchs won’t touch their debt.
How long does a job, the weather, family who won’t move, keep the productive in slavery?
We’re going to find out. I give them 2 years.
I am dropping out of society and dusting off my passport.
He asked for it...:*)
Where you going to go?
