MINNEAPOLIS A tanker truck drove into a throng of protesters on a closed interstate near Minneapolis on Sunday, with the driver pulled from his rig and beaten, as major U.S. cities imposed curfews in fear of another night of demonstrations against police brutality descending into violence.
It did not appear any of the marchers were injured when the truck raced towards them on I-35, blowing its horn, sending protesters scattering before coming to a stop, according to the witness and a tweet by the Minnesota Department of Public Security (MNDPS).
Police arrived soon after and arrested the truck driver, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, MNDPS said.
Video of the incident shows protesters swarming the vehicle before it comes to a stop.

They arrested the driver...
All truckers should refuse to go anywhere near that town, no gas, groceries or supplies of any type.
The driver was certainly scared to death and afraid to stop and did just what I have told my wife and daughters to do when confronted by a someone trying to stop their car. Don’t stop keep on driving it your life they want - don’t stop - keep driving.
The police arrested the truck driver?!
Guess I shouldnt be surprised, I mean they pulled that pawn store owner out, after he defended himself and his property, and while taking him to the squad car, allowed looters to go into the pawn shop and finish looting.
I’d like to see that...
Big media last night said the man was held peacefully until police could arrive and they said that with a straight face
I will not be another Reginald Denny. I’m sure you are too young to know who that is. Anyone who witnessed that will understand, you ain’t stopping me, dragging me out and trying to kill me. I’m saving my own life so if you stand i front of my vehicle expect to be run over.
>>How did the truck driver get there...the highway was supposed to be closed. <<
Per several accounts I read yesterday, including one linked above, the cops put up the barricades behind him, after he was already past.
Other stories I read also said that originally, the freeway was only closed in one direction. The “protesters’ were only supposed to be on the opposite, closed, side of the freeway, but several had crossed the center barrier, into the open lanes; that’s what prompted police to also belatedly close the side he was on, rather than clearing the barrier jumpers. “Protesters” claimed other motorists managed to slow down, and “respectfully pass” them on the right.

It’s an eye opener.
No, I am not too young to remember, but I gave only limited attention to Rodney King, Reginald Denny, the trials and the riots. My son had recently come out of the Army after serving with the 82nd Airborne for all of Gulf War 1. I was so happy to have him home alive and was busy helping him and his family get readjusted.
As to Reginald Denny, he was certainly a victim, and his attackers were mainly criminals with records. His attackers were black, but most of the people who rescued him and drove him to the hospital, and the doctor who treated him were also black. See this detailed link:

I don’t need to read a link I know damn well what happened and it’s why I will run over anyone who blocks my way. If you want to stop and risk being drug out of your car and beaten nearly to death that’s your choice, don’t expect other people to feel the same.
released with no charges. He was driving a company truck and GPS data didn’t mesh with him intentionally trying to run into the protestors
You are 100% wrong.
