Tell me about it. I lived in Ctrl FL for 25 years and then moved out to rural MO. I guess the spice imports never made it out here so they're used to bland food. What really kills me is that I'm surrounded by beef cattle but the quality of beef in the stores here sucks compared to FL. Even the high dollar cuts are tough. The famed KC strip is no better than FL sirloin. I suppose it's great though when you're accustomed to eating squirrel.

I grew up in rural Michigan in the 60’s. We were pretty isolated. I was in my 20’s before I first tasted Chinese food. We had 1 NBC TV channel that was clear, ABC was snowy, but watchable, and CBS was just not available. Just about anything that was not an essential had to be ordered from a catalog. We would drive 90 minutes to go to McDonald’s. But in the 21st century, with the internet and Amazon it is not nearly as bad. And it sure beats wondering if the riot is headed down your street next.
I would ask your neighbors. There is bound to be a local guy somewhere who does a little meat cutting on the side and can get you some of the good stuff!.
