Wear Your Face Mask And Savor Your CO2 Breath

This is truly a duh moment.
When a healthy person wears a face mask, they continuously re-rebreathe a portion of the CO2 that comes out of their lungs.
Of course, there are many different types of masks that vary in such CO2 concentration, but the principal remains the same.
Breathing air that is too rich in CO2 has its own negative health effects !
Humans breathe in air that is approximately 20.95% oxygen, 78.09% nitrogen, 0.93% argon, and 0.04% (400 ppm) of carbon dioxide.
Upon exhaling your breath contains approximately 3.8% CO2.
Now, people are not dropping dead because they breathe higher-than-normal concentrations of CO2.
How many of you survived as kids hiding under the covers with a flashlight after bedtime ? (Likely, all of you!)
When CO2 enters the lung, is dissolves in water, forming carbonic acid which makes the blood more acidic, lowering blood pH.
At the same time, excessive CO2 concentrations leaves less oxygen to be absorbed.
Other aspects of body chemistry are affected as well.
When wearing face masks, especially for an extended period or during higher-than-normal physical activity,
some people will experience symptoms like rapid breathing,
rapid heart rate,
dizziness,
muscular weakness,
emotional upsets
and fatigue.
Of course, it is up to each person to decide what it good for their own health.
This writer has already decided to ditch the mask for fresh air.
Admittedly, it is right for a sick person to wear a mask when they find it necessary to be in a public setting.
All others should consider the potentially negative health effects that a face mask might cause.
As states proceed to re-start their economies, companies like Costco are requiring and demanding that all shoppers put on face masks before being allowed into the store.
Certainly, others will follow.
Although their logic for doing this is totally flawed, shoppers have a decision to make:
If you want to attempt to sort this out when faced with such a challenge, create a little card like this to show to the store manager or anyone else who demands that you wear a face mask.
Even if they tell you to get lost, you will have made an important declaration to them about constitutional and legal rights.
Lastly, what is the real agenda of requiring everyone to wear masks even after the pandemic subsides ?
A peer reviewed paper on the National Institute of Healths website (NIH.gov) points in the right direction.
The surgical mask is a bad fit for risk reduction was written in 2016 by Dr. Shane Neilson, MD.
He notes that Wearing a mask reinforces fear and that This fear surfaces in public policy.
Lastly, he concludes: The problem of affect in political terms is a contagious one: fear spreads among the public, leading to intensification of risk management. [emphasis added]
Thus, the governments goal to encourage the continued use of facial masks is to reinforce fear so that their own risk management programs can be intensified.
This, in pure terms, is nothing short of psychological manipulation and it has nothing to do with health or keeping people safe.

so all these folks running around stores with homemade mask are just fooling themselves not to mention unless they have a face shield to protect their eyes then it's even more irrelevant.Thank you! I thought FR was going nuts! Either that or I entered into Bizzaro FR by mistake!

Admittedly, it is right for a sick person to wear a mask when they find it necessary to be in a public setting.I agree.
But what if the person is sick but doesnt know it? Up to 40% of infected COVID-19 persons have no symptoms but dont know that they are sick and are actively spreading the virus.
They feel healthy! So why should they wear a mask?
But theyre not healthy. They could give you the virus during one short conversation.
The asymptomatic spread of this virus is the truly devastating feature of this virus. If the asymptomatic spreader is wearing a mask, the likelihood of them spreading the virus is greatly diminished. Its not rocket science.
Are you an asymptomatic virus spreader? How do you know?

- Also, breath IN through the nose ... - Try that with a deviated septum. You won't last long.

I went through some of those test when I retired from the military.
The nurse keep saying to the flight surgeon, "Look at that lung capacity !"
What she didn't know was in my records, about the scar tissue on my lungs from the two times I've had pneumonia while in the USAF.

Wikipedia is leftist/intel agency propaganda.
Mikovits blew the whistle on contaminated blood suppplies and vaccines and the CDC/Fauci establishment took criminal and strong arm action to discredit her.
Dig a little deeper before spewing such propaganda.

I'm not wearing a mask, period.
I'll stay with the many doctors I linked to and the articles they wrote that I've posted.

Definitely sucking in too much of his own CO2.
To: Wayne07
The same people that say it traps in CO2 (a gas) are the same folks saying the mask doesn’t stop a virus (a particle).
And BTW - many of those hardworking Americans have been wearing masks caked with wood, sheetrock and cement dust.

Another story to convince you not to wear a mask.
Just curious, how did you survive the 2017-18 epidemic where 48.8 million Americans got sick, 959,000 were hospitalized and over 79,000 people died?
Obviously you were one of the 280 million people who never got sick, never needed a mask and never needed social distancing......
How was that possible?

Great links. But you are replying incorrectly. Maddog was saying that the masks don’t keep the particles out, and this is also mostly correct.
Worse, the masks actually concentrate the particles that you do aspirate and the mask itself has negative consequences beyond the concentration of CO2 and impairment of breathing for the individuals wearing specific types of masks (Home made mostly) (The lightweight surgical masks have much less impact but this is because they are very thin and very light weight which.. is about them being designed to accomplish the goals laid out in the papers you cite.)
The mask doesn’t protect you, and wearing it for significant periods increases your risk and the complications you will be facing.
The studies you are citing are all about containing the particles that you aspirate so that they are not expelled into the air around you if you are sick.
All fine and good. But, in the wild you get to see in the US what happens when you attempt to force people to wear these things. First, they don’t. Second, they wear them wrong.. mostly around their neck, or with their nostrils out.. and they play with them continuously because the plume of breath is forced up the face into the eyeballs.. fogging glasses or simply causing irritation.
I used to be a huge advocate of masks until I notice that only about 50% of wearers actually used them correctly, and those that did clearly were suffering. When you couple this with a very uncertain cost benefit ratio and increasing harm over time, this rush to masks was wishful thinking.
Surgeons wear these masks to protect the patients from casual exposures to what they brought into the room. They are purposely made exceptionally cheap so they can be disposed frequently during the day, typically at each hand washing session which happens to be the Number One infection control move for hospitals, not face masks but relentless washing.
But, there is a deeper problem and that is turning a whole country into germaphobes and the consequence is that the whole of the society is made more not less vulnerable to the next wave of unknown diseases.
One of the facets of this COVID panic that is only now being discussed is why it didn’t spread like they keep expecting and the answer is starting to become considered that some previous exposure to a Corona virus has already prompted immunity in a large percentage of the population which seems to follow an inverse social distancing pattern with the youngest being the most immune and the least social adults being most vulnerable.
Clearly the regimens of increased requirements for masks is not working or at least having any significant impact, and thus.. even if it is “good” it has downsides that were obvious before KAREN came along to bully everybody into complying.

They wear masks because masks work, and apparently they are bright enough to realize that. Also apparently, a lot of Americans are not.
Most people in Asia wear masks because of the smog.
The mask you wear is for YOUR protection, not mine.
It's none of your business if I wear a mask or not.
If you wear a mask, why do I need one?
Before this phony flu pandemonium you could go into any medical facility and the personnel wearing masks would remove or lower them to talk to you.
IOW, most people are bright enough to know they wear masks for THEIR protection, not yours.
