I did some field work at Homestead Airforce Base on the east coast of Florida. In the morning briefing (7am?) the Airforce guy said that we needed to be inside our vehicles or a building for the rest of the day when a thunderstorm rolled in at 16:36 pm (4:36).
I chuckled and said “Not 16:30?”
He gave me a stern look and said “16:36”.
I think he was a minute off - but that might have been my watch. I’m not sure if they have some special system for tracking weather, of if the weather down there (right on the calm, warm ocean) was just so predictable.
Anyway - I’m guessing they know exactly what weather windows they have.
Did the USAF guy actually say 1636pm ?
