A black man says he asked a white woman in Central Park to put her dog on a leash.
Then, video shows her calling police and telling emergency operators that the man was threatening her and her dog. The woman, who has been identified as Amy Cooper, has apologized. But by Tuesday afternoon she was fired from her job at an investment management firm.
"Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," the company said in a statement posted to Twitter.
When I walk my dogs...off leash. If someone is coming towards me..I tell that person.."They will not hurt you"......

Yeah, having dog treats for dogs off leashes seemed pretty weird. I wonder how often that kind of thing happens? There’s a running and bike trail that I go to often, and see many dogs being walked. They always have leashes.
(Do you really need someone here to tell you what took place, or could you not just spend two minutes watching the video yourself?)
Wow.. She is mentally disturbed. She wasn’t even aware she was hanging her poor dog. She needs help.
If her job was in Communist Corporate Control, AKA Human Resources, then she is probably a busybody control freak. HR people are nothing but government-controlled apparatchiks enforcement of PC quotas and tax collection.
The dog wasnt bother him. He was being a prissy, busy body. Secretly wants to be a politician or cop or both. She should have gotten herself and the dog away from him asap. Why can’t people just leave other people alone.
Looks to me like a wanna be black activist who was looking for racial conflict to video. She obviously panicked (choking dog) and didn’t have the sense to realize she was being set up.
What he said:
‘Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like’.
That sounds like a threat to either kidnap or harm the dog in some way especially when he pulls out the dog treats. She doesn’t know what he has in mind.
She should have had her dog on a leash in the first place but at the point where he threatened her she did the right thing by calling the police.
I haven’t watched the video. Do we know the guy didn’t make threatening gestures? Gee, maybe he was holding a shotgun or a knife. Maybe he kept his hand in his pocket like he had a knife. Do we know for sure? It seems everyone is over reacting.
Watch the video. She’s a lib. She’s no Trump supporter that’s for sure. She hates men. And dogs in that area of the park are suppose to be on a leash. This is a women that goes to Walmart and yells at people for not wearing a mask. She’s got all the traits. Is she a racist? Well, I consider those that support liberal policies towards black americans to be supporting racist policies. I think she was emphasizing “African-American” on the call because in her mind she feels they are not 100% human therefore the police would act faster by saying that he’s “African-American”. Like any typical liberal-democrat, in her mind she loves “African-Americans” as much as she loves dogs, elephants and giraffes as long as they stay in their place. Well, he didn’t. He was trying to be individualistic towards her and that’s a NO NO. So she called the cops, claiming to be physically threatened by an “African-American”. She’s no conservative and she’s getting a taste of the medicine she voted for.
Well said. We have too much of special preferences and inequality going on that only divides us even more. Why don’t they sit down and have a discussion instead of resorting to social shaming. If she gets a good lawyer she’ll get her job back and a lot more.

Calling the cops on someone, saying you’re being threatened, that, my friend is NOT ‘doing 36 in a 35 zone’, that could get (the law abiding person, remember) killed by a trigger happy cop. That’s ‘Swatting’ and has gotten people shot, it’s also a class A misdemeanor in that state.
She’s a liar and a lawbreaker and and animal abuser.
Most at will employers have written policies which govern terminations. And yes, that can cover behavior outside employment which can impact the employers reputation. Note 79, they reference racism as the reason for not termination, but putting her on administrative leave pending investigation. 27, 58, 69, 74, 86 all reference the bird watchers behavior before the video, in his own words. She may well have felt threatened, certainly her dog was. If all their is is describing the black man who threatened her as black to the 911 operator, I'd speculate she'll be back at work. You're right, she won't have a shop steward arguing her case, likely an attorney who might love to pursue the case.

I suspect she wouldn’t go to Walmart.
I get the feeling that someone in management had been waiting for an opportunity to fire her without impunity. The abruptness in which she was terminated speaks to that.
I was approached on my own property by an off leash dog. The dog growled, barked aggressively, circled me, and made lunging motions any time I moved. The owner strolled over at a very leisurely pace to get his dog, well aware that I was uncomfortable. I love nice dogs, but I'm disgusted by dog owners who will not control unfriendly animals. I did warn him that the wrong person could kill his dog over that behavior, but without telling him that I was armed and came very close to being that wrong person. I very much do not want to kill a family pet, especially in my neighborhood, but I have an even stronger desire not to be bitten. I'm sure he learned nothing.
So are the racists defending her.
All he apparently did was to politely ask her to put the dog on a lease. And she was trying to get him arrested by the police and put in jail for that?

Why is he a tattletale. She called the police. It’s a good thing for him he was filming so she couldn’t accuse him of rape.
