Memorial Day Weekend Corona Virus Thread
Good point. Hadn’t thought of ex-pats’ affect.

Impressed by the acuity of Illinois standards for judging spread risk. Though “why” the positivity rate changes could deserve more consideration.
Burnet Co. jumped from 86 active cases on Oct. 22 to 250 on Oct. 28.
What are your numbers?
Williamson Co. has less than Burnet!
We have had over 150 new cases this month in Kerr County, 47 the last month, a nursing home with twenty... And more people using no protection to slow spread in public.
If someone doesn’t want to wear a mask, or gloves, please do not walk up to me, invade my personal space, and say, “good morning”, “how are you?”, or “are you okay?”
“And more people using no protection to slow spread in public.”
That!
47 the last month was supposed to be 47 the past week.
I swear autocorrect is to blame for the error.

“n interim report led by Imperial College London and Ipsos MORI, which includes tests taken between 16th and 25th October, shows that the prevalence of infection has more than doubled since the last round of testing, with 1.28% infected. This means an estimated 128 people per 10,000 of Englands population has the virus that causes COVID-19, compared to 60 as of 5th October...
Young people aged 18-24 continue to have the highest prevalence of infection but the steepest rise was seen in adults aged 55-64, which saw rates triple compared to the previous round.”
Wow!! Pretty bad news for England!
And not just "positive tests". Looking at UK new cases/deaths on worldometer, they are tracking together, with the standard 3-4 week delay. The trends look pretty bad for them. France, Italy, Spain, etc all seeing increased cases and deaths. Looks like Europe might be headed into a 2nd wave. Hopefully nothing remotely like the 1st wave.
260 active as of yesterday and so far 15 deaths.
Hubby claims the high numbers are because of the prison but it isn’t. TDCJ claims to have gotten control of many of the inmate cases and it’s down to zero cases here and one employee sick. If we’re to believe them, whatever. Besides the prison only holds 600. I fully believe 99% of our cases now are out in the community.

Well, we don’t have a prison, just flubras & flubros out the wazoo.
6 months is a good start. Hoping for at least a couple years. Obviously lifetime would be best.
Study included 100 subjects who were sero-positive in Mar/April whose cases were mild/moderate or asymptomatic.

There is no reason to create a new vaccine. IMO, this spread is intentional. Gates is nothing but evil. Remember, he and Fauci presented their new covid vaccine, mRNA-1273, at Event 201 last Oct. before we’d even heard of covid.
More plastic shopping bag shortages. Dollar General in San Saba and Cross Plains are asking for donated bags from their customers no matter what the logo on the bags are.
This week, Texas schools are closing left and right due to high cases of covid.
Many districts haven’t opened up to in-school learning, yet. They are required to get back to in-school learning next week per Gov. Abbott.
Many schools have free testing. Many schools offering free lunches to all students including virtual learners.
Amarillo - Has the highest number of cases in the state and has spent nearly $9 million on prevention and virtual learning since July 1.
Houston - Spangler Elem (?) closed
Katy - Nottingham Country school closed.
Ft. Worth - this close to closing some.
Coleman - closed for a week.
Richland Springs - closed until after Thanksgiving.
Groom - closed for 2 weeks.
Sanger - Sanger HS closed this week
Alvord - 5th grade closed until Dec. 15 and other elem grades encouraged to do virtual learning.
Manor - 3rd graders and siblings under self-quarantine.
Galveston, High Island - closed for 2 weeks.
Abilene - 2 schools. Cooper HS Friday’s football game has been postponed due to high number of cases. It’s serious when it affects football! 62% of their virtual learning students are failing at least one class.

Algorithm spots ‘Covid cough’ inaudible to humans - An algorithm developed in the US has correctly identified people with Covid-19 only by the sound of their coughs.
In tests, it achieved a 98.5% success rate among people who had received an official positive coronavirus test result, rising to 100% in those who had no other symptoms.
The researchers would need regulatory approval to develop it into an app.
They said the crucial difference in the sound of an asymptomatic-Covid-patient cough could not be heard by human ears.
OK, that’s neat.
OK, that’s neat.
Guessing the poll worker didn’t die of an ingrown toe nail or some such as the flubros would have us believe. Doesn’t really matter what he/she died of, the question is how many are now infected and how many of those will have life long health problems or will end up dying from CV because of this scum.
Tip of the iceberg. Likely, many more workers were infected. Then there’s everyone in line. I voted by mail in, so sue me.
