Latest twist - Covid may cause inflammation of the heart more often than recognized. Maybe SARS-CoV-2 should be known as SAID-CoV-2: Severe Acute Inflammatory Disease. Good article explaining cardiac involvement from @haiderwarraich

Firsthand info:
I had an Aunt and Uncle test positive for Covid-19. Both in their 80s
They just had a family wedding two weeks ago where their Grand Daughter got married. A lot of Family members attended. Nobody is sure where they caught the virus.
I wonder if the new cases in NZ were from circulation in some animal species there that just hopped back to human after a while.
Like dogs, cats, or even some wild creature that picked it up from a waste water treatment facility somehow, or just plain sewer system.
OUCH!
Big fail on my part.

An aerosol ‘preventative’.

” Llamas and other camelids fight off pathogens like viruses with tiny antibodies called single-domain antibodies or nanobodies. The UCSF team used protein engineering to make a synthetic nanobody that prevents the spike protein on the surface of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, from binding to healthy cells and infecting them.”
Not yet in human testing.

5 Minks on Utah Farms Test Positive for Coronavirus
However, the USDA said that “there is currently no evidence that animals, including mink, play a significant role in spreading the virus to humans. Based on the limited information available to date, the risk of animals spreading SARS-CoV-2 to people is considered to be low.”

” county is down to 86 active cases. Thats waaay below the beginning of the month at over 200 “
My rural SW Va county cases have risen 10 fold in the last three weeks Earlier we had practically no cases). Growth seems to be levelling off last few days though. Hospitalizations doubled.
Strange about our different timing.
Expected rural outbreaks to be closer in the timing. Not a big difference I guess.
Another heart study:
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/08/200818114952.htm?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
“”As we age, the cells of our heart muscles produce more of the proteins needed by the coronavirus to break into our cells,” said Dr Emma Robinson from Maastricht University and KU Leuven. “This makes these cells more vulnerable to damage by the virus and could be one reason why age is a major risk factor in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2.”
Some of the proteins encoded by the genes can be inhibited by existing medicines. For example, the anti-inflammatory drug camostat inhibits TMPRSS2 and has been shown to block SARS-CoV-2 entry in cells grown in the laboratory. The study also suggests new targets for medicines...”
What struck me is damage to the heart caused by the virus itself, I’d assumed it was the immune system causing such damage.
