He stated he was initially skeptical. Here is interview on his experience in the valley.
Sobering read, and also a video.

New Covid mutation ‘helping outbreaks spread faster’
A new mutation of Covid-19 is now the most dominant strand of the virus globally and forming clusters quicker in the UK than the original virus from Wuhan, an expert has warned. Professor Nick Loman of the University of Birmingham, who is part of the Covid-19 Genomics Consortium, said the mutation, known as D614G, has an observable impact on cases in humans. While it is not thought the new form of the virus causes a greater risk of death, or lengthier hospital stays, it is helping outbreaks spread more rapidly across the world. Prof Loman also said he suspected the new mutation would not impact the process of finding a vaccine for Covid-19, particularly given its prevalence globally.

Man, she’s going to have to live with this for the rest of her life. “Living like it’s 2019” means you CANNOT visit grandma and grandpa. You have to choose between “normal” and family. Call them on the phone, skype/facetime/zoom with them or whatever.
Grandpa was 80 years old. Lot’s of people dismiss these older folks dying. Meh, they’re old! For perspective, the average 80 year old male will live to be 87.
McDonald's now requiring masks.
Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Walgreens and CVS are among the companies who say they will still serve customers who refuse to wear masks to avoid confrontations between shoppers and their workers.

New CDC guidelins: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/duration-isolation.html “For most persons with COVID-19 illness, isolation and precautions can generally be discontinued 10 days after symptom onset1 and resolution of fever for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and with improvement of other symptoms.”
Two weeks before Austin teachers begin their inservice meetings but 9 schools are closed due to nearly 698 employees in quarantine.
Most of those are the cleaning crews. If they can’t be safe with all those disinfecting products, just wait for all the students to arrive.
