It was Gregory McMichael who told police that Bryan had tried to assist them in stopping Arbery during earlier attempts. Gregory McMichael’s statement to the police is why Roddie Bryan has been arrested. If he had only been recording, I doubt they would have arrested him. But he wasn’t just recording; not according to Gregory McMichael.

So if someone has a problem with Bryan being arrested, they need to take it up with Gregory McMichael, who was stupid enough to talk to police about a man’s death without a lawyer.

Bryan was arrested because Arbery's mother and her lawyer started screaming for his arrest merely because he took a video of the event.

The GBI took action on the only charge they had (it's not against the law to make a video).

In reality, Gregory McMichael can help him now. there is only one person that can help him now. That is the head of the GBI. They can take their arguments as to why he should not have arrested him and request that he drop the charges. Arguing their case on Free Republic is not going to help their guy. No matter how much they agree among themselves.
