But the economic task force has set a goal to reopen higher-risk settings like restaurants and malls to customers by July 4, something health officials still need to sign off on. Barger said the industry experts on the task force will deliver reports on progress by June 30.
Local officials continue to take a cautious approach.

I am glad that public officials realize how bad the economy is in LA County...
Come on...End the shutdown...Don't just say that you are unhappy...July 4...Not fast enough...
End the shutdown before it is really too late...The county supervisor does admit that some businesses will not reopen...

No bailouts. Government employees should be unemployed too. Most are very non-essential.

Well they can take solace in the “moral superiority” they so proudly virtue-signal, as a “sanctuary city.”

I don;t think most restaurants are going to make it,even as they open...50 to 25 % capacity isn’t going to cut it and pay their bills....

The DemocRATS consider over a million unemployment claims a positive thing. With the $600 weekly supplement to the unemployment checks, thats OVER $600 MILLION PER WEEK of FEDERAL DOLLARS coming into that county.

“890,000 people in the film and entertainment employees are not working,”
lol, a number of us are ready to work. It’s just a good number of us are getting paid to stay home anyway and these clowns dont actually factor in the $600/week is actually NOT a liability because you have disposable income. Not only that unions and guilds pay in addition.

Barger said. The most prolonged closure means that many small businesses may not be able to reopen and will cause permanent job losses for millions throughout this county. Gee...if only people had spoken out and said that's what was exactly going to happen....ugh.

Will it sober people drunk on power?
I rather doubt it!

They’ve been sobered but they’re not quite sober enough to see the train wreck that’s coming.
