Denver Newsroom, May 19, 2020 / 07:10 pm MT (CNA).- A forthcoming documentary is expected to show that Norma McCorvey, the woman at the center of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision, was paid by pro-life groups to say things she did not believe in opposition to abortion.
A priest who says he was close to her for decades told CNA that while McCorvey was a complicated person, he believes her pro-life convictions were sincere.
This is my deathbed confession, Norma McCorvey says in a trailer for AKA Jane Roe, an FX documentary premiering Friday. Interviews with McCorvey were filmed before her 2017 death.

As to charges that McCorvey was used by the pro-life movement, Pavone said that from his perspective, Ive never subscribed to the idea that the pro-life movement used her.
The priest conceded, however, that one would have to say that, as in any movement, when theres a convert, youve got to be careful not to put them into the lights and the cameras before theyve had the healing that they need.

The priest knew her for a long time...
I don't know if I am going to watch the documentary...
I am not sure about how to explain her behavior at the end of her life...

She could have been paid to recant.
I wont watch. She sad she lied about being gang raped. She had problems in life, I pray God grants her peace now.

I realize the woman passed a few years ago, but did she say who paid her? Did she name names? Might it be that she cynically milked money from the pro-life movement by fooling them into thinking he changed her position on abortion? She doesn't sound like an honorable person as she lied from the get go.

Maybe she will name somebody in the documentary?
Father Pavone really believed that she was sincere...
I think she was always a conflicted person, and who wouldn’t be when you know you killed your child.
But I think her pro-life sentiments during her later life were real, not fabricated to please the pro-life movement.
Why she reached out to the abortionists on her death bed we will never know.
She never had an abortion if Fr. Pavone is to be believed.
