Around 1 p.m. on Feb. 23, a warm Sunday afternoon a couple weeks after the Super Bowl, yet another unarmed black man was killed in the United States.
Ahmaud Arbery, an avid jogger, left Brunswick, a primarily black city in southeast Georgia. Running through the predominantly white neighbouring community of Santilla Shores, Arbery was chased down in a truck, confronted and fatally shot by George and Travis McMichael, a father and son who allegedly believed Arbery was responsible for burglaries in their neighborhood.

Look who can’t stop posting garbage again.
> Yep though they did not have to be open carry to stop the guy...
That would be Arbery, the guy that ran towards and attacked someone holding a shotgun? Yeah, sure he would have just stopped and calmly waited for the police.
Can we stop with the “jogger” sh*t!!!!!Now I care less about any of it. Sure, the left will milk it but that’s what they do. Lives don’t mater to the left. Politics and power is everything to them. Unfortunately, regular people eat it all up on both sides and don’t see that they are being played.
“I agree. Arbery should have just kept going. They certainly werent going to shoot an unarmed man in the back.”
Except Travis had already shot Aubery once — in his right hand (Aubery had been shot 3 times, in his right hand [the one the Sr. Mc Michaels thought he might be carrying that “purported pistol” in], in his sternum and in his chest over his heart.
So with only ONE hand, running away from someone out to MURDER YOU IN COLD BLOOD IS FUTILE. As for self defense, Just try firing a 12-gauge one handed with your off hand! Especially with daddy shooting at you with his service revolver. Oh, yes, there WAS a backup plan.
Arbery got justice. He attacked a man holding a shotgun, and he got shot. That's justice.
What about it was stupid? The bringing the gun, or trying to stop a thief at all?
I daresay without that gun, they would not have been able to stop that thief. He would have beaten them both.
I saw the video....There was no shot prior to Arbery going after McMichaels and wrestling over the shotgun.
It wasn't a murder. It was a self defense homicide. It was legal.
"Murder" is the illegal killing of someone.
Oh, so he was a thief? What did he steal?
And yes, the son with a shot gun was stupid. Ive shot a bunch of rabbits, targets, and clay with shotguns. I am pretty sure I wouldnt point one at a person unless I knew how to keep that person far away from me.
Clearly, the son thought the perp was going to just stop and follow his orders. Wasnt he surprised.
And now he will go to jail for his stupidity.
So it's the "truck" that causes this to be a threat? If he just walked there, it wouldn't be a threat?
How about if he just slept there all night? Would that be a threat too?
Seems to me, a man holding a gun does not necessarily constitute a threat. Seems as if he would have to point it at you or something.
If Travis had done this, he would have killed Arbery with one shot, no further struggle necessary.
Clearly Travis was not pointing his shotgun at Arbery. By the time he started to bring it up, it was too late. Arbery was already on him.
You don't have to see with your eyes, you can see with your mind.
If Arbery had his foot shot, we would know the gun was pointing down. If Arbery had his head shot, we would know the gun was pointing up. If Arbery had a hole in the middle of his chest, we would know the gun was aimed right at his chest.
He got shot in the palm. He was reaching for the gun.
Man! That Travis has got to be some sort of excellent marksman! To hit a man right square in the hand while he's waving it around during his "jogging" is an exceptional feat!
So why do you suppose he decided to aim for the hand? To get Arbery's attention?
Now if *I* intended to shoot someone with a shotgun, I wouldn't aim at their hand, I would aim at the center of their torso, because if you shoot someone with a shotgun, you generally intend to kill them, and so why waste time going for a hand?
A hand isn't a very good target. Hard to hit. Aim for the center of mass. Much easier to hit.
I see it differently. That thief reached for the gun, and Travis fired in surprise, striking the thief in the hand.
But you go ahead and believe that Travis was aiming for that hand.
Like I said, DELUSIONAL
Thanks for reinforcing my point with an obvious delusional response.
Like i told another wacko a good prosecutor would disgrace and destroy you on the stand.
A TV that we know for certain. Additionally $2,400.00 worth of fishing gear, a purse, and a handgun.
Or do you want to believe there is a second thief? I generally use Occam's razor, and that makes it just one thief.
Clearly, the son thought the perp was going to just stop and follow his orders. Wasnt he surprised.
I think 100 men out of 100 would be surprised at someone attacking them while they are holding a shotgun. That's just not sane.
And now he will go to jail for his stupidity.
He will go to jail for politics. The matter was settled and done before the hue and cry went up. The *ONLY* reason this has become a thing is because the Governor and Attorney general want to appease the crowd.
If you are having trouble understanding something, I can break it down into simpler, easier to grasp terms for you.
The gun was aimed at the places it hit. We dont' have to see the actual gun being fired to know where it was aimed at any given time.
Also, nobody aims at the hand. Center of mass, or it isn't being aimed.
Doesn’t matter, Brady. Falcon fans will still hate you two games a year.
How many perps who try and grab a policeman’s gun end up dead? And the policeman walks. This situation is no different.
He was carrying a TV and fishing gear?
I did not see that in the video.
He was unarmed and chased down by two people with guns. And no one expected him to put up a fight. They were stupid.
Go play with your balls Tom, and shut the f*ck up!
