Two new GOP congressmen were sworn into office Tuesday after winning two special elections last week that Republican leaders tout as a sign of GOP momentum heading into the fall general election.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi welcomed Mike Garcia, R-Calif., and Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., to the Capitol Tuesday morning to swear them into office. The newest members of Congress then joined House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., for a press conference where McCarthy said these two wins will have a ripple effect for Republicans retaking the House.
“This is an early indication of what November looks like,” McCarthy said.

There are hundreds of fresh new GOP candidates running for seats across the country. Many of them have honorable military backgrounds. This week’s special election is a signal.
If aunt nancy loses the gavel, will she retire?

My new Congressman, congrats!
I saw another photo of one of the two swearing-in ceremonies. Nancy had this sick, pasty look, the “Lady of Shalott” look.
I was reminded of this part of Tennyson’s famous poem:
The mirror crack’d from side to side;

It costs a lot of money to run for office, and you can’t use any of it to buy your child’s clothing. Maybe he outgrew his suit jacket. I’m just glad he’s a republican.
