BUTTE COUNTY (CBS13) Public health officials are now doing a contact tracing investigation after someone tested positive for coronavirus after a Butte County church held a service on Mothers Day.
According to Butte County Public Health, a person tested positive for COVID-19 a day after attending the Mothers Day service.
Its unclear exactly where that person was infected, but now the over 180 people who are believed to have attended the service may have been exposed to coronavirus.
At this time, organizations that hold in-person services or gatherings are putting the health and safety of their congregations, the general public and out local ability to open up at great risk, said Butte County Public Health Director Danette York in a statement.
Butte County Public Health and its partners are now trying to test all the people who attended the service.
Anyone who attended the service is being instructed by public health officials to self-quarantine.

As announced earlier this week, Butte County was among the first to meet the guidelines for loosening some of the stay-at-home order but in-person religious gatherings remain prohibited until Stage 3 of Californias reopening plan.
Totally agree on that one. Coronavirus particles are about 1/10th the size of the particulate found in cigarette smoke. People who believe that dust masks, or even surgical masks are protecting them are misinformed. The masks are to diffuse the cloud of virus coming from someone who is coughing or sneezing and not much else.
The reason there were only 1000+ flu deaths in children from swine flu was the heroic Obama stopping it from becoming 10,000. Ok, I made up that last part but 1000+ is true. It didn't make the news, for some reason.
Since Feb 1 there have been over 100 child deaths from flu and about 10 from COVID. I think they weren't able to pin all 110 on COVID mainly because COVID (the disease) is so rare among children. Also all 110 had major health problems to begin with. Also that's from the provisional data and is incomplete but more accurate than most of the COVID reporting.
Even with trained people. The best exercise I heard during the ebola scRe was to out all your gear on., the have someone smear chocolate sauce all over you. Your task is to get the gear off without getting any chocolate sauce on you.....
3 x Daily means 21 times a week.
Once we have a reliable CV19 antibodies test and you test positive then we'll let you out but until then its best you stay under your bed and don't answer the door. ;-)
Luckily I'm 65, smoke too much, have 4 or 5 grey hairs, an O-Neg donor and not clinically obese (in my opinion), hate listerine but substitute with Russian Standard Vodka. Still vertical as my Dad used to say.
Testing is only for the symptomatic. Out and about use a mask going into stores, if nothing else being polite to others and if you cough people won't run away screaming.
I assume you're a Doc but why we don't have an antibodies test yet from the CDC and private experts surprises me.
We do have several antibody tests now
Are they reliable? Who makes them and are HIV components tested? This is a test. Pencils down in 20 minutes. ;-)
abbot states it test is 99% specific and sensitive
Thanks - It’ll be good to find out if we’ve had it (CV19) - Not ready to go yet.
Comorbidities (sp): I’m probably borderline COPD and my wife is diabetic but with exercise and diet she got off of insulin after 10 years. We’re both 65 and change.
She could be a diet doc or at least write a book on the subject.
Thanks again.
Charlie
take care!
“Possibly” and “may have been exposed” does not mean they were.....a lot of fluff in this article.
