They're not finding something to be afraid of so much as they are being given their latest "fear of the month" - all day, every day by the greatest marketing machine ever developed.

This latest one worked great, but it seems to be winding down now, and while I don't know what the next great fear will be, I'd be willing to bet it's already being queued up in the pipeline.
